Kid Mystic Puzzeling Caverns

My grandson plays the game and he's been through the game twice and just don't have any idea how to get to the key to unlock the fairy in there. We've finished everything but how do we get that key? My poor grandson is getting very frustraited!
Can someone please help?

O stands for on. X stands for off.

When you start the puzzle, it looks like this...

O X X O
X X X X
X X X X
O X X O

Step on the four lights in the center. Then they all should be on, so what you do now is run across all of the lights in each row. Then they'll all be off, and then you can get the fairy bell! I think that should do it.
