In this topic you can discuss any RTS game, whether it's out or not. To get the discussion going, I have a little question: from what we know of it now, will Spore be an RTS (like Rise of Nations or Age of Empires) or a citybuilder (like Simcity)? I'm certainly hoping an RTS, with the monster editor there would be limitless possibilities for fighting units.

Looks like a kind of mix between the two. I hadn't really thought about the RTS aspects. Could make for some interesting battles.

Like a more advanced version of Warcraft III (sorta).

From what I can tell, there will be some fighting but it is not a central aspect of the game. It is more a creating game.

Now that that's out of the way, Anyone have Age of Mythology and play online? I'm jordo15 if you wanted to add me to your friends. One problem, though: when I play, I always go out of sync. I'm not sure what tha means but it makes me restart AoM.

I love the destructibility on Black & White

Fun Fact: If people have 10% health or less (i think you know how to get them that way  ) they will crawl instead of walk.

Fun Fact: If you slap your creature to 100% alot when it is still young, it will go insane.

Fun Fact: There are many ways to complete a simple task. Be creative and listen to your consiance.

Fun Fact: Tapping on water (clicking once on it) will scare fish away.

Fun Fact: The creature AI for black and white was the most advanced of the time.

Fun Fact: Killing one of the sailors wanting to build a boat will result in one of them making a funny reference to south park.

Black & White? Is there a link to the official site, 'cause I've never heard of this game before.

There's a sequel too, that's been out a while. I've never played either, but according to PCG UK #2 never stops feeling like a tutorial, but it's more gamey in the expansion pack.

My mom and my little brother recently went to Mexico for a few weeks (while my dad and I were in Minnesota) and my cousin let my brother borrow Age of Mythology until the next time he sees him. So I've played it a little bit. It's pretty fun, and in many ways better than Age of Empires.

Some of it is sort of hard to understand because it's in Spanish. I probably won't play it much though. I don't really play computer games much anymore.

Just bumping the topic to mention that I've been playing Age of Mythology a good bit in the last two weeks or so. It is pretty awesome; it is a vast improvement on Age of Empires II, especially the graphics. I like playing as the Greeks best.

Anyone else played this?

I haven't but my friend who I haven't seen for 2 years told me he was #1 in the world for a very short period of time, and now sits in the tip 10 of the world. Of course, I have yet to check this, but I will try to get his screenname for you so you can check (I dunno where to check).
