There are actually quite a few older players on here including several older women.

And the last time I was in a school, it was a college and it was only about 5 years ago, but, then again, I was the teacher. :D

They start school early here, because the schools are used for hurricane shelters. There is no way to know ahead of time if there will be a hurricane, but if there is, the schools could be tied up for a few days up to a week for each hurricane. If none of that happens, the summer vacation starts earlier, which in this climate isn't a bad thing.

Im looking forward to school, this summer has been EXTREMELY boring. Plus, I only go to school for 2 hours and 3/4 of an hour a day, anyway.

No, its... a complicated situation. I'll simplify it.

In our school system, we have a school called "Alpha and Omega". Its a behaivoiral modification school(With only 2 hours of school, and 3/4 of an hour of "Group time"). I got sent there last year. I convinced my teacher in Alpha and Omega to let me stay in Alpha and Omega(Im very convincing... In fact, im the first person to go back to stay in that school because everyone else either goes back to regular school or to boot camp school. I'll be the only one in that school untill someone gets in trouble at regular school) because.... well, heres the complicated part.

I dont mean to brag, but I am smart. Say we have an hour to do an assignment(In regular school). Most kids get done in about 50 minutes. I get done in 10. In that 40 minutes where no one else is done, I have nothing to do. And since I CANT STAND boredom(**** for me is a big room, with nothing in it.) I have to do something. Like talking. And this gets me in trouble.

At alpha and omega, you get to work at your own pace. And with all the work they give you(You get as much work as you did in school) It takes up most of the two hours.(For me it does, anyways. most other kids there have a ton of homework, I usually have none since im always finished by the time school ends.) Therefore, no free time to talk and get in trouble.

So, thats what the school is and why im in it.

The cool part is, Alpha and Omega is small. Really small. The school is a one bedroom house. I dont know about yall, but im the type who tries to avoid contact with other humans, unless I have nothing better to do(If im bored, I'll do anything.) So its perfect for me.

From what I can tell, you are probably pretty lucky.

I go back to school on Monday, and I am currently rushing to get all my summer reading work done. The reason I have not done it earlier is because I got back from Minnesota recently and then I ordered one book from amazon.com and reserved one at the library, but neither of them are arriving ( :evil: :evil: :evil: ) so I have to wait for the mail/library system to hurry up. I am not too worried though. In a worst-case scenario I will just borrow the books from someone and spend a couple of days locked in my room, reading and typing furiously.

I go to a regular high school, but I am in a super-pretentious smart-kid program. (IB) So I get to do tons of work all the time, which is exacerbated by me sometimes being not very good at concentrating...

Time to distract myself with stuff on the inter net! 8)

From what I can tell, you are probably pretty lucky.Luck has nothing to do with it. I've always been pretty good with getting what I want. It helps having a baby face, too.(Girls think its cute, and adults find it hard to not give me what i want because of my face? Oh, yeah, double whammy!)

There are only two schools in america like that one in california and one in... :? somewhere else but it's sponsored by a beer company... I think...
Anyway! My teacher started a school like that but it got closed donwn!

Uhh... no. I live in Mississippi. And, I dont think its legal for a school, which usually has people under 18 in it, to be sponsored by a beer company.

and the only problem I ever had with school is being in a school that has a lazy administration and is having worse and worse student-to-student problems.

Wow! the school system has changed around a bunch of schools(They built a new Southaven High, so the middle school gets the old high schools, elementary gets the middle school, and so on.) So now, alpha and Omega is moving to a REAL SCHOOL BUILDING! One with about as many classrooms as a high school. Which means, since alpha and omega usually only get about 15 students, there will be 15 students, in a high school. With only 2 teachers, and one counselor. Think of the mayhem to be made!

2 more days! School starts on monday!

My school starts on Monday too.

Since the population in my area (the suburbs around Atlanta) is going up really fast, and so are land values and real estate, new schools are getting built and existing ones are getting expanded. Also, all the school parking lots are getting filled with trailers.

Also, at the moment I am almost finished with my five-page report. We shall see what happens this school-year...
