View Full Version : Forum Fight - Like the idea?

I have devised a new game to be played on the forum, with similarities to Mafia and similarities to Spam Battles, and some of its own unique elements.

In similarity to mafia, there are day and night phases. Another similarity is the fact that the two teams are the Citizens (see *1 for other details) and the Traitors (see *2 for other details).

In similarity to Spam Battles, the two teams have there own bases, one at each end of the battle field. In normal games, this is called The Land For Um (see *3 for other details), but can get pretty wierd. The teams are decided by the leader, not the signer-upper.

In uniqueness, the game has a thing called actions. They are a variety of things a player can do. It is restricted to five a day for the good, five a day for the bad, and two a night for the bad. I will go deeper into this aspect of the game if enough people like it. The game also has roles. There are the Citizens and the Traitors (see *1 and *2 for details), which are standard roles, but there are also Shields. These have a rather obvious ability. Also Executers, and a few others that I have thought of so far. Again, I will go into more detail if enough people like the game. The one KEY difference is that everyone knows everyone else's team, but not their role. So, it gets hard at that point, but it will be further explained if, you guessed it, enough people like it. So give your opinion! Give suggestions! Tell me it stinks if you want! I want to know!

*1: They can also be called villagers, townsfolk, etc. Or you can make up a name to fit the theme.
*2: They can also be called killers, criminals, etc. Or you can make up a name to fit the theme.
*3: It can also have names to fit the theme, but the area is always the same:
A field in the middle, and a base on either end of the field.

It sounds a little confusing, but from what I can understand, this doesn't sound like a bad idea. :-)

Well, I'll go ahead and explain the other stuff...

Okay, actions work something like this:

Day Phase:
Bob: I choose to ATTACK BOBBY
Bobby: I choose to DODGE BOB'S ATTACK.

Night Phase (PMed):
Bobby: I choose to HIDE from all of BOB'S ATTACKS TOMMOROW
Billy: I choose to INVESTIGATE (see * for more details) Dudeman TOMMOROW

Day2 Phase:
Bob: I choose to ATTACK BOBBY
Bobby: You MISSED! I HID from all of your ATTACKS last NIGHT.

*: There is one reason you would investigate: to find out what role a mystery person has. These are described in the roles section (COMING SOON!).

Here is a list of all the actions I have thought of:

Attack - attack a person of your choice. They only die if they do not have anything to counter with from the previous night, and the rest of the people on the citizen side act before they do to counter- it's hard to get rid of a badguy!
Hide - Be invulnerable to the attacks of the person of your choice. Whenever they attack, you survive no matter what, and if you don't post before night starts again, the host will say that you were missed when he posts to start the night.
Investigate - Each day, a citizen can choose to investigate someone else - on their team or the other's - to see if they are the mistery role, described in the roles section (COMING SOON!). If they are not, they are unable to do anything for the rest of the day. A traitor can do a similar thing at night, but he is unable to do anything for the rest of the night if he is wrong.
Protect - Only shields and their relations, described in the roles section (COMING SOON!), can use this. They choose to protect someone each night, and the next day, if they are attacked, the protecting person says that the person they attacked was missed because they were protecting the person. If the protecter is attacked, however, they cannot protect the person they wanted to protect for one post. Protecters may not protect on two consecutive days.
Arrest - Only policemen and their relations, described in the roles section (COMING SOON!) can use this. They arrest someone, making them unable to use any actions for one day and one night.

Spy: Only the Spy can use this, all pms by somebody are forwarded to him.

Fly-Only Birdmen or Birdwomen can use this,Its a attack but if a opponent attacks you first its a Block

Magic: Only people with Magic Wands can use this. It casts a spell of your choise from the list below.

Wind - Blows Hard Wind at Target or Blows out a Burning Target
Water - Splashes your Target or shoots ater at Fire
Fire - Burns your Target or Melt a Frozen Target
Earth - Rocks fall on your Target
Ice - Freezes your Target
Thunder - Shoots a beam of Thunder above your Target
Confuse - Makes your Target dizzy
Block - Builds an Energy Shield around you or a Target
Lava - Splashes your Target with Lava
Red Water - Splashes your Target with Red Hot Water
Black Fire - Burns your Target with Very Hot Black Fire or Melt a Green Frozen Target
Green Ice - Freezes your Target with very strong Green Ice or Reflects Thunder AttacksAnd here is a List of what some words are that were on the Spell list:


Your Target - The user your choosing to Attack
A Target - A user your not attacking
Burning Target - A user on Fire
Frozen Target - A Frozen User
Green Frozen Target - A user that is Frozen in Green IceThat's all! :p
