It's the BEST HALLOWEEN EVER because an actual game came out from Hamumu within scant years of the last release!!
Yes folks, step right up and enter Sleepless Hollow, the latest in the Adventures Of Bouapha series. This is a hardcore Bouapha game! It's meant for real Dr. Lunatic fans who are very good at what they do. It will test your hammering skills to the limit (actually, it will mainly test your puzzling skills, but the hammering is quite tough too). Revel in Bouapha's amazing new abilities and the whole new world he's in.
Go give it a try! There's a demo, and then you need to buy it ASAP. Note: you will not be able to continue your demo progress in the full game! So treat the demo as what it is - a chance to see what the game is about and decide if it's for you.
GO GET IT: http://hamumu.com/game.php?game=HOLLOW
You don't want to miss out on the legend of the Headless Horseradish, the spookiest root vegetable (vegetable? I think? Spice?) you will find this entire Best Halloween Ever!

doesnt seem that awesome like SWC though.

You can get both of those hammers in the demo, but that's about as far as you can go, since you can't enter any other tombs. But the new hammers do each give you a couple new things you can do in both tombs.

I think I found a bug:
In the Tomb of Mirrors, in the Reflecting Pond section, if you hold down the hammer throwing button and move around, only the "real" Bouapha will move and the mirror images will stay in place playing the hammer throwing animation -o_-o I don't think that's supposed to happen :O
Coolguy
10-31-2007, 05:12 PM
It's not a glitch- It's just a side effect of summoning extra Bouaphas. For instance, if you kill the main Bouapha, you die and start over, but if one of the new Bouaphas dies, you just get teleported to the start.

I know it's a side effect of summoning extra Bouaphas, but weren't you supposed to be moving all of them at the same time? Because if you do what I posted, you can freely move across the room with only one Bouapha moving, and I'm not sure if that is the point -o_-o

Does the game come on CD?
Jamul
10-31-2007, 06:18 PM
It's not available on CD at this time, I'm afraid.
It is intended that you can make them stop to do the animation, though I confess to not ever realizing that you can just hold them in place by doing it. Still, there are good reasons why you wouldn't want to do that. I'll leave them up to you to discover.

10-31-2007, 08:26 PM
In the mirror grave thingy, when you step on the pad and the three Bouaphas appear and you have to guide them through the water-maze thing, you can simply hold down the hammer button and move through the puzzle by yourself. Your companions will simply try to throw a hammer, and stand still, while only the original can move-and-shoot. You might want to fix this.

I'm still confuzzled as to how you get the candle in the hollow barn in the bottom right corner. A cow won't fit through the opening, so that is out of the question. Do I need a special hammer, or is there a switch somewhere?
(I do have the full game if that helps)

Oops! I mean the reflecting pool!!!
I got the Lightreaver with no problems, so here's my tip. I've placed it in white text below this, for the sake of those who DON'T want help.
The trick in the Reflecting Pool is to get your two reflections and yourself to the bottom left of the area without drowning any of them. Once you've managed to do that, make sure that you've "clusterised" yourself with them. Now, enter the narrow passageway to the left. Your reflections will selfdestruct when they enter, but you won't.
I cannot emphasise the fact that, if you have not clusterised with them before entering the passageway, you WILL be teleported back to the beginning!
This game is harder than Dumb: The Game...and there are certain bugs in the game. I do recall seeing two Lasers at the entrance to the Tomb of Mirrors...but when I destroyed the first Unbreakable Glass in the Tomb, the Laser on the right side of the entrance (not on the side with the candle) disappears!

Edit: Oops, double post...
I don't think so. I only got the Blue Key...but why would the Red Doors and Green Doors in the Ghastly Graveyard be blocked if there is NO KEY to them?
Oh yes, forgive me for posting this question, but I think it'll come out eventually anyway: Are there any cheats in the game?
Ah, one more thing...what are we supposed to do in the Town Hall?

I cannot emphasise the fact that, if you have not clusterised with them before entering the passageway, you WILL be teleported back to the beginning!
If you guide them into the little pockets outside the exit then they won't blow up, just dissapear, and the path behind you becomes blocked off.
I destroyed the laser outside the tomb to uncover the purple thingy,
Can I do anything with that?

If you guide them into the little pockets outside the exit then they won't blow up, just dissapear, and the path behind you becomes blocked off.
Yes, that is correct. Some text in white follows.
There's a little step button to the right of the Laser, that you'll meet if you continue up the passage, which will open up a blocked off section off the wall that connects to the narrow passageway before the start of the Reflecting Pool once you step on it.
In that room with many mirrors and the Laser, you are supposed to rearrange the mirrors such that the Laser's projectiles will enter the small passageway on the top-left corner of the room. The Laser is used to destroy the first Unbreakable Glass that blocks off the connection to the Lightreaver.
I destroyed the laser outside the tomb to uncover the purple thingy,
Can I do anything with that?

How do you solve the Black Box puzzle in the Tomb of Mirrors?
Ah yes, the Black Box. You see those Lasers in the adjacent room (the one with a big black void) firing like mad? If you do, read the white text below this.
The objective in the Black Box is to match the mirrors with the ones in the black room beside it. You will need to move each individual mirror to the exact same spot in the black room. For example, if a mirror that deflects shots from the right to the top is at row (horizontal) 3, column (vertical) 8 of the black room, you'll need to move the same type of mirror in the room that you're in to row 3, column 8.
Now, you might be wondering how to know which mirror to move. To know what to move, and where to, you must rely on the Lasers' projectiles. When they hit a mirror, the shots will either deflect in another direction or hit the mirror and disappear in a shower of particles. If the latter is true, use the particle shower to determine what type of mirror it is, and where to place it. If the former is true, you'll know which mirror to use; you just need to know where to place it.
This puzzle is very innovative as it makes unorthodox use of the seemingly-useless special effects for illumination.

There also appears to be a problem with Bouapha's throwing of hammers; in other games, he swings his hammer up, and then he throws a hammer when he swings it down. In Sleepless Hollow, he throws a hammer when he swings it up. This makes the hammer-throwing action unrealistic.

Puzzles that require pointed hammer hits are all at the very beginning (in Mirrors), when you have few hammer-ups. After that, I don't know of any that would ever require you to not fling a huge pile at once.

Seeing as no one will answer questions in my question topic, I'm going to ask a question here (also, my next post would, y'know, be a quadruple post...):
In the Underhollow, how do you get to the purple pad blocked off by wooden posts? Also, I have all six hammers. Where is the Headless Horseradish?

How do you get past the mud stuff? And also chaucer, did you try to type "Headless Horseradish" in the guest book in the Sleepless Inn?

In the demo, I did. Nothing happened.

Okay, got past that puzzle. Now, how the heck do I beat Sir Spooky Hauntmore? Every time I die, I come back in the area he's in. This means that, until I beat him, I can't move on.

Well, it's fun... but so much of it is recycled!
Although the cow sprite from Scarecrow made me chuckle. But they act just like Triceroids!

Those are new graphics, actually- The Scarecrow ones didn't go diagonally so Jamul had to remake them.

You can type the name of most monsters in the game at the geustbook. That includes Big Head todd, and Happy Stick ___s
I will try Sir Spooky Hauntmore in the geustbook.

Can somebody please give me a hint to get the YELLOW HAMMER? I seem to have done most of the Tomb of Flames and found the numbers 2, 4 and 7...but I still can't get the hammer.

Put it on 4 and go to the wall with the 4 tile in front of it. follow the path to the hammer.

Yellow Hammer? Do you mean the Flamebringer? If you are, find the number that is near the hammer, set the clock, and return there. The passageway should open.
EDIT: Justin posted before me, but I'll leave this in.

So, is there a list anywhere of what the things in the shop are and what they do?
I can guess some of it - the first aid kit, I assumed would give some HP regen, and it seems to work so far. I bought the shield assuming it'd reduce damage taken, but I can't say for sure yet. And it seems I got one other item without knowing what it was, that restores energy. I'm out of candles, but I assume the spring has the usual effect, and the brown hammer possibly being the same as the reverse hammer? And one is a regular hammer powerup, and then what's the rest for?

Go to the zombie's counter. The second box square I think, to see what all the items do.

Ahh, thanks. Went up to the counter before, and it didn't display anything, guess I just went to the wrong square. That helps a lot.

And for the ones you already bought, put your cursor over them in the pause menu to see a description.

Ahh, another tidbit I didn't know. Since I pretty much use the keyboard for everything in the menus, I never realized that one. Never even thought of trying that, and yet it should have been pretty obvious, most games nowadays have tooltips for things like that. =)

That's one reason I put mouse control (useless as it is) - the menus are getting to be much more useful via mouse (the profile menu, in Supreme and here, doesn't even work without a mouse!), and having to switch back and forth is silly. Of course, you still need to, because the mouse control in Hollow is very bad.

If that's the one where you have to walk an invisible path, watch before you enter the area and memorize the path. Then you should be able to walk it.

Stand on a purple floor tile while holding the Planetsmasher and press shift (or whatever key you're using for special hammer ability thingies). Going to the Dumb Side shouldn't be required to beat the Tomb of Flames though.
