Sleepless Hollow Questions

I have several questions, mainly to do with the Fire, Mirror, and Darkness Tombs.

Mirror: What do you need to do for the Black Box puzzle?
In the area that is covered with darkness, how do you get to
the second half of it?
How do you lock the pumpkins in place?
How do you destroy the second/middle glass wall?

Fire: When you get to the room surrounded by the fire coils (Or
whatever they are), how do you get around them to the room?

Darkness: What is the solution to the Sesame puzzle? I've tried, and tried,
and tried, but I'm getting nowhere. At the most, I can get 3 of
the 4 letters right, but I can't finish it. If you know the answer,
PM instead of spoiling the secret publicly.

I have two Red Hammers, and The Flamebringer (Level 10). Bouapha is level 12. I have the Blue and Green keys.

Honestly, I don't know! I was just playing Sleepless Hollow, and one time I paused the game, I suddenly had the blue key in my inventory.

You don't have to do ANYTHING to get it... It's just sitting a in a un-doored room on the 2nd floor of the Sleepless Inn.

The Bold questions are the questions i can answer.
1. You see the balck box and 2 Turrets. You can move them with the Buttons, and you have to try where and which Mirrors at which place stand!
DON'T Click on the Button at the north-west corner to agree, click it to remove your mirrors.

2. When you come into the Tomb go up>right>up> and then there's a mirror, delete the glass with the mirrors and then go west to another puzzle, solve it and it will be destroyed.

Actually the Glass dude he was asking about is destroyed by solving the Black Box puzzle, which opens up a door to a bunch of glassjaws and in the top right corner of that room there is a mirror facing the wrong way.

To lock the pumpkins in place you need the planet smasher!!!!!
You probably don't have it yet but when you get it:
Stand in the middle of the 4 pumpkins
Shoot the special power to the left to lock those pumkins in and then to the right.

Then get through those doors fast because they might close on you!!!!

I need more help on the Black Box puzzle. What is your goal? Are you trying to get all the lasers to a specific wall, or something? And how do the mirrors on the left side of the puzzle that you can move effect the mirrors on the right side of the puzzle?

Also, does anyone have any hints on the Open Sesame puzzle? I just can't figure it out. These two puzzles are the ones I need help on the most, though help on any puzzles would be very appreciated.

Thanks! I'm going to try it now. Also, I find lighting up a ghost with the Flamebringer, and then hoping that they warp to the dark box works very well. Of course, it's only temporary, so you have to hurry.

OK, here's the way it worked for me.

You have probably already figured out you want it to read OPEN SESAME. My problem was with the seond letter. Until I figured out its relation to the third letter.

I can't remember what all of the four switches do ... i.e., make letters advance, subtract, whatever. But the secret seems to be the second letter. So. Set the second letter to two less than the third in the alphabet. I know that sounds confusing, but try it and see what you can see. Pay attention to what happens with EVERY letter when you run over a switch.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mysterious, but it has been awhile since I solved that puzzle. The main thing I remember is that the second letter can be two(maybe three, depending on how you count) less than the third. Sorry, it's confusing.

Argh! I don't know which switch lowers which gate in Tomb of Darkness. Which ones have you done? IIRC, there's the one where you walk along a briefly lit path through poison mud. Another for Open Sesame. One where there are eensey weensies behind some blocks. And the barrel puzzle. Do you remember what you've done? There are some others in there, but I don't think they have anything to do with getting the hammer. But I can help if you tell me what you've done already.

I got the second gate lowered, so you don't have to worry about that. However, I need help on the word puzzles in the Tomb of Bones. I've found two so far, (One south of the entrance, and one you can get to from The Dumb Side) and I need help on them both.

Here's what I said before for one of them. This is your help!!
.... I I T T puzzle, read your journal again and pay close attention to the very first thing you see on each page.And the first thing you see on each page is a letter. For instance, if the first word on page one is "If," then your letter for that position in the puzzle is I.

For the other, send a spark to the O. I don't know why. I can tell you that OTTFF etc. stands for One Two Three Four Five. It's a math puzzle, but I have no idea how the answer could be one. Anyway, that will open the space so you can get the candles.

Well, the math puzzle, it was

O + T x E - S x F

First, you have to remember your order of operations, so you'd have to read it like this:

O + (T x E) - (F x S)

Now, the tricky part is that some of the letters can stand for more than one number.

Just work it out from there.

Thanks! I've solved those puzzles. However, I need help with the Bone Tomb again. Do you know the area where you have to put certain layers of bones to open certain areas?

1. Which combinations open which places? I've got 4 so far. (The entrance, of course, the south-east rock, the south rock, and the north-west rock. How do you open the other areas?

2. In the north-west area, how do you solve the number puzzle? I've uncovered all of the bones from the ground, and tried every combination I can think of, but nothing has worked. (I did level Planetsmasher to 10 though!)

1. That one is easy. Just sort of pay attention to what the actual patterns ARE that remove the stones. Once you get it, you'll want to smack yourself in the head for not noticing earlier. =P It's one of those that you're probably thinking a little TOO hard on.

2. Now, you have to enter a two digit number here, correct? My only guess is that you have to count something - I sort of brute forced it myself - I figured there couldn't be TOO many, started at a fairly low number, and got it after a few tries. I mostly got lazy there though and didn't feel like uncovering all the bones. I'm not sure what you'd need to count though - the skulls, bones, or empty holes. If I had to guess, I'd say skulls though.

For instance, a vertical line down the middle looks like a 1 and opens the door to your left. They open clockwise from there.

2. Someone else sort of answered this, but see your question #3. That "sewer gate" had the candle that was in the well. If it's not there, you already got it.

4. Fish #8 is the Napfish, found where the green key used to be (and where the lazybones was taking a nap). Fish #9 is the Hollowfin, found in the waters of the Underhollow. Normally I would be more obscure, but I'm irritated that no one will even give a peep to help with fish #4.

5. I have found 96 candles, so you appear to be missing several. There are many that are obscure. See my post titled "Missing stuff" for some obscure candle hints. If you need more help, PM me. I would be glad to give you hints or even tell you step-by-step how to find things. :mrgreen:

There are 11 pants and hammers - but the game only registers 10. So even if you get the 11th pair, it'll still say ten. As such, it's probably a good idea to NOT buy the Hammer Up until last, as you can get 10 normally and you'll have a difficult time getting the last 10 or so candles.

I still can't find fish #4 either. It's gotta be somewhere. And I *still* can't figure out how to get into the other hidden room in the Tomb of Darkness. I've gone over that tomb too many times now, and I still can't figure that out. I've tried using all the hammers on the wall, tried going around every side of the room, thinking there's a different way in. Can't figure it out.

Christian - You're one candle ahead of me! I'm missing five yet. Did you get the two obscure ones in the Tomb of Bones? In the room with the small mud pits on the top and bottom sides of the room, near the entrance - there's a hidden passage on the left of the bottom pit. Got lucky finding that when I was looking for the missing fish. Alas, there was no pool of water in there. There was also a pretty obscure spot in Sleepy Woods - a hard to see purple tile to the Dumb Side in the middle of the trees.

We need a candle radar in this game. I have no clue where else to look for candles. And the missing candles would probably also net TWO comic goals, as I have a feeling that one is from getting all the candles, and one is probably for buying out the shop.

And I bet one is for catching all the types of fish as well, but we can't find #4. =/

Oh well, for the meantime, I'm gonna take a break from looking, and work on finishing the last world for Supreme I need to finish to get 100%. =P

Did you get the one from typing in the inn registry? If so, did you find a hidden goal in Tomb of Bones? Those are the only REALLY obscure single candles I can think of.

After having been around Hamumu for over 3 years, I know Jamul doesn't like people to help with what he would consider spoilers. Which makes no sense to me, since you can use a white font.

Anyway, I'm moving on to something more user friendly. I don't think the fish is in the well, BTW. I tried that several times and got nothing. Coolguy, I'm thinking Jamul must have found fish #4 since he has all the goals. But he's the one person I can think of on the forum who doesn't post help for games, unless it's technical.

I don't remember the location of all the yellow keys, but I do know there's an easy-to-miss one the Tomb of Bones; in one of the Big Head rooms, there's an arrow made of bone floor tiles pointing at a wall. Follow that arrow to get a yellow key :D

There's more than one raft there, if you know where to look. And for the number puzzle, reread your journal. It's more useful than you would expect.

It is the glarch which is only found after doing the extra barrel puzzle part in the Tomb of Darkness and fishing there. See the thread on "Glarch"

I found that candle and fish a long time ago (which is why I have all the goals :p). Thanks for trying to help, though.
