The answer is definitely no (and yes, it is needed to get the hammer!). The only problem is... I MOVED THAT WALL!! Ugh. That was a specific issue that one of the testers got bit by, and I fixed it in one of those versions way back then. I can't figure out how it came back! Sorry, that one definitely should've been fixed.
