Does anybody have any hints on how to solve the letter puzzle?
Also, the five switches that change the bone pattern have me stumped. (I managed to find Big Head Maude by trial and error).

The letters in the letter puzzle correspond to the first letters of each journal entry.

In order to open a certain door, you have to make that number appear with the bones. So to open door 2, you get the bones into this pattern:

B B B
x x B
B B B
B x x
B B B

or for door 7, you make this pattern:

B B B
x x B
x x B
x x B
x x B

"x" means leave blank. "B" means use a bone.

I thought it was in some way dog-related (The "Bones" theme, plus the fact that the extra letters spell "Mastif" when rearranged).
