YOU NEED THIS PATCH!!
It fixes stuff of course, and it adds a sport that is unique to the Sleepless Hollow region, known as electrofishing. Hopefully someone will write up a lovely electrofishing guide on the wiki as things are discovered, because there are a fair number of little subtleties to how it all works. Such as how you even do it in the first place, since the instructions you get are quite vague on that point (I didn't have a whole lot of room... but you'll figure it out!).
The only thing in this patch that you will miss out on if you don't restart is the fix for the Sesame puzzle. And you can work around that by simply hitting the 'back up' switch repeatedly. Aside from that, everything is accessible to players both old and new. Fish away! And by the way, have a look at my Dumb Page.
1.7
----
* Can no longer get stuck on puzzle just right of the Sparks entrance
* Can no longer be hurt while doing death animation
* helped ensure you won't hit wrong tiles in sesame puzzle
* added Electrofishing to the game!
* fixed lighting in Darkness tomb that was sort of broken by last patch (coming in from the dumb side is not supposed to be pitch black!)
* starting an area near an important enemy won't erase that enemy!
* ammo meter now always red if you don't have a mystic hammer
* added sounds for leveling up and leveling hammers up
* fixed a weird little tomb of bones issue
* sparking issue solved! Coils will always spark properly now!

Sadly, it doesn't seem to make the enemy reappear though. It's gone, and it ain't coming back. It killed me a few times, my only guess is that I reappeared on top of it, making it poof.
As an aside, I also seem to have messed up one of my goals - collecting all the journal pages. Upon getting the last page, and noticing that the enemy has disappeared entirely, I tried to end task to hopefully circumvent the autosaving (which didn't work). Now, I have all the pages, can look through all the pages, but no longer have the goal for it.
I was able to get four more candles and a yellow key thanks to the fixes though. =D
And one other issue - seems to be minor, but don't know why it happens - in the Underhollow, after going through the Dumb Side and coming out the other end - if I'm standing right around the gateway, I get some pretty bad slowdown. It's the only time I've had slowdown playing the game, and it's consistant right at that spot. But only that spot. There should be no reason for that, as I'm playing on a decently beefy computer.

I just downloaded the patch, and now my colors are all wonky. I have exited and restarted twice now. Is that something to do with electrofishing?

I think that's a special that turns on lighting over and over (if you keep standing there). Don't stand there!
No, nothing will make an existing map change. I can restore the horseradish to people who have lost him, as I said in another thread. It will most likely also get you your journal goal (well, actually it won't, since there are more journal pages now!). Here's the best way to get it fixed: walk back into Underhollow (preferably right there at the entrance to the Hill), save and exit. Then email me "yourname.prf" and "yourname.015". I'll send you back a miracle of modern science.

No, there's no reason why this patch should wonky your colors. See how it is after a reboot. I can think of only one thing that would make your colors go bad, and that would be a bad copy of a specific one of the images in the game. But that file is not affected by this patch at all. Of course, it could be the classic virus scanner issue.

A reboot did not fix it. It's really unplayable now, and so are SWC and LL2! My other games (non-Hamumu) are unaffected. Interestingly, I can play Hamumu games in windowed mode without the colors being affected, but I can no longer play them in full screen! I didn't do anything at all except download and install the patch and make a post to the forum. I didn't change anything or load any other programs or touch any buttons. This is a sad day! :|

That's quite interesting... there's absolutely no way this patch could have affected those other games in any way, permanently. I suspect these non-Hamumu games you are playing just fine aren't in 256-color mode (few games are these days! Wish mine weren't!). When you rebooted, was the first game you played Sleepless Hollow? Try a reboot followed by one of the other games instead. It's possible somehow that this game is corrupting something that is hurting the others. If that doesn't fix it, then this patch is absolutely not to blame at all, and I would suggest you read the FAQ page about virus scanners (and don't ask me why it happened to occur right at this moment, stranger things have happened...).

Boohoo. I have rebooted multiple times and tried various games. All Hamumu games are hosed in full screen. All other games and programs work fine. And I had my virus scanner disabled when this happened, although I reenabled it after the problem to see if I had somehow gotten a virus. I can't even build for SWC anymore. Waaaahhh!

This can be much more than an antivirus program that causes this. Read http://hamumu.com/help.php?q=50 for some ideas on what more you can look at. It could possibly be something to do with your video drivers, but I don't think so. For further tech support, contact me by email or PM, since this is'nt a general issue that other people will benefit from.

Thanks! I uninstalled some stuff and adjusted the start menu settings. All is OK now. I am happy! I am posting here just to say that you are right, and your FAQ stuff was very helpful. Thanks again!

By the way, Jamul, are you going to update the download for the demo as well?
Jamul

None of the changes affect anything that's in the demo, so no. The only thing lacking is that the ammo meter isn't red when you have no mystical hammers, which demo players can probably handle.

Huh, just a quick note to say, somehow, my Headless Horseradish reappeared. Not sure how or why exactly, but I was just looking around over there again, and all of a sudden he started chasing me!

Perhaps it's because the Horseradish was in the dark. There seems to be a glitch in that so long as you're in complete darkness, you disappear completely.
