Not sure if this was intended; I somehow woke up the Starey Bat and now I'm completely stuck (i.e. I can't move) -o_-o The only way to a escape from that situation seems to be to hope for one of the monsters to kill me, and that wouldn't make the Starey Bat become inactive again either, so the next time I walk there, I'll likely be stuck again -o_-o

Same thing happened to me. You have to hit 'Retry' to get out of this one - and turn left a little before this happens next time through.

Heh, I never even noticed there was a "Retry" button until you mentioned it XD Oh well, it's still annoying though (and probably not supposed to happen either) -o_-o

That's been reported by a couple people (Including me!) but Jamul wanted to leave it for some reason (I don't remember why, go find that topic yourself! :p)

I changed it from how it originally was. There's only so much room to work with in that area (without making the C shape of the tomb disfigured), and how it is now is a big improvement - now it is just an added part of the 'challenge' of getting that candle. It used to destroy you for slightly overstepping the right path.
