No ∞?

No! ∞ is not a number!
I'm torn between e and Φ.
Edit: nevermind. Calculus uses e a lot. I haven't seen Φ in any kind of math very much. e wins.

Of course ∞ is a number. It's just not a conventional one.

It doesn't have a single value, but it is incredibly useful at times. As it is, Φ comes up a lot. If you take consecutive terms of the Fibonacci sequence and divide the larger by the smaller, the ratio tends toward Φ. It also comes up in nature a lot, as the dimensions of many objects are x by Φx.

I'd say that ∞ is more of a number than i can ever be.

Those aren't actually numbers, they're variables.

Those are constants that have been carefully calculated for hundreds of years. The symbols are only used because they're more convenient than writing a particular irrational number out to its entirety. You're welcome to try, though.

I was torn between e and π. I chose e. Next would be i. Although φ is a nice number, it isn't super-useful like the others. You can trust my expert opinion, because I am a super mathematician. I've gotten an A in every single math class I've ever taken, and I've taken a lot, including loads of calculus. So I should know which numbers are best. /brag
