I have seen enough. Please, Stop Spouting dead memes. It's Not Even remotely funny anymore. This kind of stuff is just spam. Also, Since when do you know all these memes? It seem like it just suddenly happened.

Isn't spamming at a certain point what TM is all about?

Hidden message: IPSSINETASI. Don't ask me what that means.

Somewhat on-topic, artificial fads are annoying, and the Culture article on the Wiki has been edited more in the previous month than most articles get edited in a whole year (partially with stuff that has never even come close to reaching forum-wide fad status, but it seems that people like to insist that anything random they come up with is a fad); it's mostly just attention seeking, methinks.

Regarding memes from other places, they're fine as long as they're still alive. Stuff like "Over 9000" and "Spartaaaa" is absolutely positively dead (besides the fact that "Over 9000" was never really funny to begin with).

Enough is always enough. Otherwise it wouldn't be 'enough'.

If you have seen enough, close your eyes. This happens to be about the only craze on Hamumu that hasn't driven me nuts.

It's too late! "Compare the clocks" is going IPO! (Whatever that means.)

We have to use the already existing memes that everyone forgot about! Maybe.

This topic is now about exploding televisions with nukes.

If you have to ask, you're missing the lobster completely.

Yeah, that page has a ton of stuff that isn't an in-joke at all anymore (ie: Penguins and mimes being specifically claimed to be 'In-Jokes' on there, etc)

Mimes! Mimes mimes mimes! Mimes mimes mimes mimes!:p

Mimes?

Mimes essentially replaced Penguins as the "Word-o-Thread"...

AtkinsSJ

Mimes and penguins seemed more of a "let's post a single word, except 'spam' is getting old" thing to me. Except at least penguins has some relevance, though that was ages ago.

TyTBone

People are free to edit the Hamumu Wiki Culture page and take "Penguins" off there if they feel the need (though I wasn't the one who originally put it on there.)

It does seem like everyone is trying to come up with their own memes for some reason or another.
I noticed this a while back, but couldn't be bothered to mention it.

Originally, I was going to have a picture of a lobster with the caption 'Aargh! It's a lobster with legs!', but I couldn't find anything decent on Google Images, so I just randomly started putting lobster into sentences. True story.

drgamer

AtLobserins, you really lobstered the lobster with lobster.

AtkinsSJ

It was the lobster, in the lobster, with the lobster.

See what you've all done now? I hope you're lobster.

drgamer

So you found out the clues and figured out who that lobster was?

bobinator1992
08-27-2008, 01:47 PM
Hahahaha, we need a word filter so we can replace any bad words with the word lobster. It would be instant comedy.

Anyway, I never thought these meme things were funny. Y'know, maybe I'm missing something I haven't thought of, but I really just fail to see why they're funny. Could somebody try to explain to me?

There are so many memes being thrown around in TM lately. Probably over 9000.

drgamer

No. No. Absolutely not. 'What a twist!' will be eradicated in the lobster fights.

AtkinsSJ

The original point of the Culture page (and I know, as I started it. :p) was that new people to the forums could look there in order to have a clue what everyone is going on about. So... whatever.

And puffazoid, you seem to have caused an increase of random stuff by lobstering about it.

Ryuinfinity

What a twist! Isnt a meme... >_> Although Im flattered someone actually thought it was supposed to be! :p No, its simply an injoke between me and one other member, not meant to be put on the culture page.

drgamer

Well, memes were simply designed, to be complex and intricate parts of the social system.
