View Full Version : CP: I'm #1!
At the time of my writing this I hold the #1 spot in Costume Party. This is despite having only won 135 levels. Last night I went from #17 to #12 thanks to a single level. This morning I went from #13 to #1 thanks to only two or three levels. While I didn't submit one of my own, I probably would have if I still needed the points.
Seems like it might be time to put a limit on the number of points available per level. Otherwise people can just keep submitting ludicrously high scoring levels to temporarily take the high score. Seems like 10,000 might be a good limit. (To keep form undercutting my "Ghost of a Chance" level.) Alternatively, just putting a limit on the number of characters that get the speed bonus when exiting would probably fix things. Maybe 20 might be good (to keep from undercutting "A Life of Sixteen".)

I am going to add a limit on exiters in the next version. In the process, I'll have to delete all the scores on ones with more than that many exiters. I wish people wouldn't just destroy fun, but you can't trust anybody. It's ironic, but you need to limit what people can do to make things fun. Freedom is not as fun as you think! I don't want to limit the possible score on a level, so this will have to do until the next huge exploit.

Yeah - there does need to be some limit. It may help give people awards, but they really should be earned more honestly.

I was on the 1st place slot for about half an hour because somebody made a really stupid 40,000-point worth level. :p

My "A Life of ______"'s aren't to rack up points, but for a challenge of controlling many characters with only two eyes (Or one, if you are a cyclops).
I suggest making the exits only give a time bonus if the last character goes to the exit. That would be better, because it is a time bonus, and there are multiple characters, the level only ends when the last character reaches the exit.

Wow...thanks for taking away the fun of getting the millionaire trophy. I played 2 levels and in just over a second I had racked up 500,000 points....the exact same level. That sure ruins most of the fun of the entire game.

I don't suggest playing "FALL", FALL 2", "TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS" and one other one I forgot.

I would suggest that Jamul deletes the levels with ridiculously high scores, makes it so that only the last character to reach the exit scores and (much as I hate to lose it) resets the Millionaire award for everyone. That would set everything back to where it was before and keep something like this from happening again.

I love the multiple time bonuses! When there are multiple guys, it gives you a chance to get one of them in extra early while still working on others. Limiting it to the first 16 entries should be fine, and allow for the most numerous level that has real fun gameplay in it.
I will probably make the game revoke Millionaire if your total ever goes below 1 million, since normally that shouldn't happen.

 It was fun while it lasted. Heh. I knew then when I went from #24 to
#4 after 2 levels a patch would soon be forthcomming.
....and then it was patched and I went from #4 to #30 (ugh).
But I managed to work back upto#27 (At the time of this posting).
- Ducky (Bye, bye, my millionaire award. Sigh :()

Yes, it does. But if you submit it with the gold blocks placed before it was revoked, they stay. And uploaded ones stay too.

What do gold bricks do?

It is just solid decoration.
Or like the description says, it's bragging, but in block form.
