Seriously. In Behind the Dumb, Jamul employs one to telepathically insert the word "Previously" into our minds. You can tell by the fact that there is a thought bubble, and not a speech bubble. As for the "Previously, on behind the dumb" sound, that's just a normal sound. It's the thought bubble that matters.

Because they paid HAL lots of money? I don't see how that makes owls telepathic.
