Welcome to the land of Alathagia! 50 years ago, the Dark Lord of Alathagia took over the land, and covered it in his shadow realm. A girl named Julie used an ancient artifact called the Amulet of Mana to defeat the Dark Lord and seal him away in a prison of Mana energy, and banished his shadow realm from Alathigia. But now, he has returned, and only one with the power of Mana can seal him away again! Become the Light Mage Matt, Julie's granddaughter Swift, or one of 6 other heroes on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord once and for all!

Signups are limited to 4 people. Anybody else will become a replacement. Replacements will play as bosses and certain other enemies during certain battles.

Signups will end once 4 People have signed up, or on March 25th.

As I will be unable to log on for most (if not all) of tomarrow, I will end the signups today. There is still one slot open, so anybody who isn't playing can take that slot. Just post if you want it, with the character you want to be. Until that slot is taken, the slot will be computer-controlled (in other words, controlled by me).

Here is how the RPG will work:

Any in-game events will be posted in italics.

Player and Enemy Actions will be in Bold.

Areas that can be interacted with are underlined.

Each player has a certain color assigned to them. Any text in that color pertains to that person, or signifies an object that only they can interact with. COLORS:
Kerma (Swift): Blue
Max (Matt): Gold
bowserfan (Keaki): Red
Computer/Me: Green

Example:
The heroes are in a large cavern. On the northern side of the room is a large door. bowserfan tries to open the door. The door doesn't budge. There are runes inscribed on the door. Kerma seems to reconize them.
There are treasure chests on the west and east sides of the room. In the center of the room, there are four pedestals. A heavy switch lies in the center of the pedestals.

NOTE: That was just an example, please don't post actions for it. Post actions for the following...

THE RPG BEGINS!

Max and bowserfan are running through the Cave of Ice. They see what they came for, the Ice Stone. Suddenly, the Guardian of Ice materializes almost out of nowhere, and chases the two out of the cave. They run across a bridge, and the Guardian hits the bridge with an Ice attack, breaking it. The only way to go is north, so the two go that way. There, they see Kerma and Sonicchaos facing a Light Angel. Suddenly, the Light Angel attacks!

Anybody can post their move, the move order is just the order that the attacks will be performed. The turn will not start until all moves are in.

You are in the western area of Foresa, the forest village. The village is surrounded by a river. The bridges leading north and east have "Closed" signs on them. The bridge to the south is currently broken. To the west is the ocean, so you can't go that way either. There are two buildings here, a house and the Foresa General Store. A well lies in the center of the area. To the southeast, a little girl is standing next to a glowing, purple crystal. What do you do?

Although you were defeated by the light angel, you still gain some EXP.

Max walks up to the well, and tries to take some water, but doesn't have anything to hold the water. He will need to find a bucket to get water. He does, however, find money in the well, and gets 200GP.

A little side note: I will probaly not have access to internet after 10AM Central Time today. bowserfan checks out the purple crystal. It seems to be magical. The girl standing near the crystal says, "This is a Healing Crystal. You can use it to heal yourself." bowserfan touches the crystal. The Healing Crystal restores the party to full health! Unfortunately, nothing happens, because everybody is already at full health.

Max checks the shop. A sign on the door says, "Closed. We open at 8:00AM." The current time is 7:55. The shop should be open after you check out the house.

The heroes enter the house. This is the house of Julie, Swift (Kerma)'s grandmother and the person who sealed away the Dark Lord 50 years ago. Julie is standing near the center of the room. Two doors are near the back of the house, to the northwest and northeast. A book lies on a table on the west side of the room. You can return to Foresa using the door behind you, too the south.

Note: During cutscenes, the character names of the party members will be used instead of the name of the person who controlls that character.

Julie uses a magical power so that the other players can hear her speak. "Swift, what happened to the amulet?"
Swift, uses the same ability. "A Light Angel stole it..."
Julie: "You must recover it. While in the hands of the Light Angel, it should be safe from the Dark Lord's minions for a little. Eventually, the Dark Lord will send somebody to take it from the Light Angel, and if they succeed in destroying it... All will be lost."
Matt uses his own magical powers to communicate as well. "What is so special about one amulet? The same powers can be gained by using the Mana Stones..."
Julie: "More than just mana power will be needed to seal away the Dark Lord..."
Swift: "Deep inside the amulet is a power that channels the mana energies into a prison form. Although we will have the power need to seal away the Dark Lord even without the amulet, we will not have the ability to give the prison its shape unless we find the amulet."
Matt: "That Light Angel is tough. I can absorb its light spells, but until the three of you get stronger, you don't stand a chance against its Solar Flare spell."
Julie: "Perhaps these will help."

Kerma gained the Berserk ability!
When Kerma's HP is critical (10% or lower), Strength and Speed get a big boost!
Max gained the Solar Aura ability!
As long as Max is alive, the party gets a slight boost to Magic Defence.
bowserfan gained the ability Determination!
Determination gives bowserfan a chance of surviving a 1-hit KO move with 1HP.
pumpkinbob gained the ability Sniper!
At the beginning of an encounter, pumpkinbob has a very slight chance of sniping one of the foes, KO'ing them. This has no effect on bosses or on certain other foes.
Julie gave every party member 100GP!
The bridges in Foresa West have been opened! You can now go east to Foresa East and north to the Northern Woods!

A quick note about abilities: Abilities are always active during battle, as long as the player with that ability is alive and in battle. Each player can has five abilities, but don't know them all. Each player can only have three abilities on at a time, and abilities with the same effect don't stack. (For example, if one player has two abilities that give +3 and +5 DEX, then the player would just get the +5DEX bonus.) Abilities with the same effect but known by different players will stack. If you ever want to switch abilities, you can mentally contact Julie by PMing me to learn your known abilities, and swich them if desired.

You are in the beginning of the Northern Woods. A small creek surrounds the woods, causing only a narrow section of land going north to be walkable on. Fallen trees provide bridges to two small "islands" to the west and east. You can see a treasure chest on each island. Some kind of spirit form can be seen hovering around over each log, with one more hovering on the path ahead.

You are on a narrow path leading eastward, standing on the trunk of a large tree. You can see a large hive on a tree in the center of this area. Near the hive, a large wasp creature hovers in the air. You can go west to return to the Great Tree, or go east past the wasp.

Currently, the wasp has not seen you. You can return to the other areas and prepare for battle. The battle will automatically start in 24 hours, at which time all four heroes will be teleported to the boss area. I think I gave this boss too much HP. The battle is getting a little boring, and it is longer than I wanted it to be. The next boss won't have that problem.

@Max: You do have Fire. You also learned Ice a while back as well.

Suddenly, a beam of energy leaves the stinger, and hits bowserfan in the chest! When it ends, bowserfan feels a new power within him. BOWSERFAN LEARNED BURNING AXE, SHARPEN, AND STING STRIKE!

pumpkinbob approches the dead wasp and begins to retreive his arrows, when he notices a treasure chest near the wasp hive. He opens it and finds a glowing swirl of energy. It floods into pumpkinbob and into his bow, and he feels a new power within him. PUMPKINBOB GAINED THE ANCIENT BOW UPGRADE! FIRE ARROW, ICE ARROW, THUNDER ARROW, AND MULTI ARROW (2) ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

gameboy begins to walk towards the exit, when he sees a glowing artifact on a pedistal near the hive. He touches it, and suddenly the orb floods him with mana energy! GAMEBOY LEARNED MANA FIST!

As Max heads towards the exit, he sees a spellbook on the ground. He reads it. The book has a variety of knowledge on the different elemental spells. MAX FOUND THE ELEMENTAL SPELLBOOK! HE CAN PICK ONE OF THE ELEMENTS TO GAIN STRENGTH IN THAT ELEMENT. ELEMENTS: FIRE, ICE, THUNDER, WATER, WIND, SHADOW, LIGHT.

Dexterity is used for ranged attacks, and also slightly decreases damage taken.

Max, there was a couple puzzles in the Forest area, you just missed them, or ignored them.

Max tries to go everywhere where something is. Unfortunately, that would mean visting everything, and he has no clue where to start.

bowserfan goes east. He is now in Feilrod, a small Farming village. To the north, you can see a cave entrance. There is a house just north of your position. A shop lies in the eastern area of the village. More buildings can be seen to the south, past a couple cornfields. Four pots lie near the center of the town. To the northeast, you can see three trees and a somewhat large hole. To the west lies the northern woods.

gameboy enters the NW door. You are now in a large maze-like room with several blocks. You can see a door in the south east area of the maze. The maze appears as follows:

Upon pressing the third switch with the block, you hear a click. You can see the third barrier rotate, then stop. An area of the ground (S) raises. Looks like the third barrier is controlled by 2 switches!

bowserfan approches the north cave. A magical barrier blocks his progress. There might be a couple things for you to do here before you move on.

The barrier you are trying to get past is there because I currently don't have the stats for the monsters you will encounter there ready yet. The barrier will disappear once the stats are ready. In the meantime, I suggest you explore before you move on to the next dungeon!

Gameboy, you still have 5 stat points to spend! In the meantime, I'll post descriptions of your new attacks:

Gameboy:
Mana Fist: An attack that deals both physical and magical damage. It is also a rather fast attack, and can be used during Turn 0. If used during Turn 0, it does half damage. Costs 120 SP.

Max:
Bright Flame: In battle, this attack does fire damage as well as causing the effect Glare. Costs 90 SP. Can be used in dark caves to increase visability.
Effect-Glare: While active, the accuracy of all foes will be slightly reduced for 4-6 turns.

Bowserfan:
Burning Axe: This attack does fire damage, and can target two different foes or do 2 attacks on one foe. Costs 110 SP.
Sharpen: Boosts STR for 6 turns. Costs 50 SP.
Sting Strike: A very fast attack that hits first. Can be used on Turn 0 for half damage. Costs 120 SP.

pumpkinbob:
Fire Arrow: Deals fire damage. Costs 75 SP.
Ice Arrow: Deals ice damage. Costs 75 SP.
Thunder Arrow: Deals thunder damage. Costs 75 SP.
Multi Arrow (2): Does two attacks at once. Can be used on two different targets or both attacks on one. Costs 110 SP.

You are unable to chop down the tree. You use Bright Flame, and the light reveals a circle shaped crack in the trunk. A slot in the center of this circle is also revealed.

Block Maze Puzzle: (Gameboy)
Gameboy enters the back room. He is now in a small room. Behind him lies the door he came through. In the north of the room is a large red treasure chest.

Great Tree Puzzle: (Max)
The slot is nowhere near large enough for you to enter through! On closer inspection, however, you see a light shining through the slot. In terms of size, the slot is just large enough to fit a sword in.

Feilrod North: (bowserfan, pumpkinbob)
Bowserfan enters the hole. He is now in a large cavern. A rope ladder leads to the surface. In the Northwest of the cavern, part of the wall has a bright red color. A small hole lies south of the red wall. On closer inspection, it reveals that there is a small tunnel that leads from the red wall to the western wall. This tunnel is not large enough for you to fit through. In the southeast of the chamber, a large blue bulbous plant lies. The plant has a spherical shape, and seems voatile.

Block Maze Puzzle (Gameboy):
Gameboy searches the treasure chest, and finds a glowing pink-purple stone.
GAMEBOY FOUND A MANA STONE!
Gameboy gets to pick one stat from which to learn more knowledge of, which will grant him a move that utilizes that knowledge.

Stats:
HP: Weak Strike (110)- If you choose to study Health/HP, you can utilize this knowledge to strike your opponent when they are weakest, causing this move to deal more damage the less HP the opponent has.

SP: Mana Absorb (Passive)- If you choose to study Magic/SP, you can utilize this knowledge to absorb some SP from each magic attack you are hit by.

STR: Shattering Strike (125)- If you choose to study power, you can use this knowledge to perform a shattering blow of power that deals a lot of damage and lowers the targets DEF. Such power comes at a cost- The massive windup requires time, so therefore this move always hits last.

DEX: Sword-Chucks (100)- By studying Dexterity, you can learn how to use your sword in a ranged manner, and no, not by attaching two swords to a chain and swinging them like nunchucks. By using the magic in the Mana Blade, you can throw the sword at a target and have it return to you. Ranged attacks do extra damage against flying targets, and ignore some of the foe's defence.

SPD: Swift Strike (Passive)- By studying speed, you can get in an attack during Turn 0 of every battle, but at the cost of half damage.

INT: Willpower (Passive)- By studying intellegence, you can learn how to use your willpower to help defend yourself from mental assults. Makes you immune to confusion, and slightly lowers the damage from magic attacks.

Great Tree Puzzle (Max)
Max inserts the light blade into the slot. The ground begins to shake violently, and the tree moves to the west a little bit to reveal a stair case leading into the earth.

Feilrod Cavern (bowserfan)
Bowserfan attempts to attack the red wall, but nothing happens. Seems like this wall is too tough to break by physical attacks. You notice some slight cracks in the wall. Maybe an explosion could break it...

Great Tree Puzzle (Max)
Max goes down the stairs. He is now in the archives of the School of Magic. There are bookshelves everywhere. In the center of the room, near the stairs, there is a glowing ring of light on the floor.

Feilrod Cavern (bowserfan, gameboy)
Bowserfan walks to the plant. Looking closer, you see that the plant is attached to the roots by a fuse-like vine. The plant is small enough to be carried.

Gameboy picks up the plant, and the fuse lights! He throws it at the wall, and the wall shatters with a deafening explosion. Lava pours out of the wall into the small tunnel, opening the path ahead to the north.

Great Tree Puzzle (Max)
Max begins to step towards the ring, but is suddenly stopped and knocked to the ground by a sudden shake of the ground, as if there was an explosion some distance away. Max gets up and walks into the glowing ring of light. He suddenly feels lightheaded, and then the room disappears as he is teleported into a small room with a large pedestal in the center.

The East tunnel has a small rectangular slot on the ground, and a magical barrier blocking the path ahead.

Oh, I missed that! Sorry.

Max walks up to the pedistal, and find a glowing orb there. He picks up the orb.
MAX HAS FOUND A MANA ORB!

Max can chose one element to study and learn a skill about.

Elements:
Fire: Fire Blade (60)- This move will set your sword on fire for 5 turns, boosting it's attack power and dealing fire damage.

Ice: Slow (50)- Sometimes in battle, you wonder how much easier things would be if you could slow down time. You still can't slow down time, but you can use this move to deep-freeze the battlefield, which decreases the speed of all foes for 5 turns.

Water: Mist (50)- This move lets you shroud yourself in a cloud of mist, boosting your evasion.

Wind: Enourmus Gust (60)- This move creates a gust of wind that batters one foe for one turn, preventing them from performing an action for that turn.

Thunder: Thunderrod (70)- This attack makes one foe take damage from all magic attacks used in battle for three turns.

Earth: Quake Punch (50)- The user punches the ground, causing a tremor that knocks enemies off their feet, stunning them for that turn.

Cavern:
bowserfan steps on the switch. The rocks blocking the four tunnels each raise a bit.

The chasms are too wide to jump over. It is possable to cross them with the skills you have.

I didn't forget anything:
Cavern:
bowserfan steps on the switch. The rocks blocking the four tunnels each raise a bit.

Gameboy tries using his skills to cross the NW chasm. None seem to work. Also, the crystal is on the ceiling, it is impossilble to grab.

Max inserts the Light Blade into the slot. The slot reacts to the sword's light energy, and the magic barrier lowers! Max looks further into the tunnel and sees a switch and another slab of rock that has been lowered slightly.

Pumpkinbob is needed to help solve the puzzle, so if he doesn't post within 48 hours, he will be replaced.

Suddenly, pumpkinbob begins to feel lightheaded. He is suddenly teleported to the tunnels by SonicChaos! SonicChaos then takes control of pumpkinbob and shoots an arrow at the diamond, activating the bridge. SonicChaos then gave control of pumpkinbob back to himself again, and zapped him with lightning for lurking.
PUMPKINBOB TOOK 300 DAMAGE!

pumpkinbob will still be replaced in 24 hours if he doesn't post.

Gameboy, you were so close that I gave it to you. What you had to do was use Sword-Chucks to cut down the vine, causing it to drop and make a bridge across the chasm.

Max, you are currently on a switch! If you step off of it, the rocks will raise again!

Gameboy uses Sword Chucks!
Vine takes 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000001 damage!
Vine has been defeated!

The vine falls and creates a bridge across the chasm! Looking ahead, gameboy sees the final switch and another slab of rock.

Suddenly, pumpkinbob morphs into SonicChaos, the elemental mage!

SonicChaos moves onto the switch! The slabs of rock lower a little more! Only one switch remains!

SonicChaos goes north. He is now in a large chamber. Unfortunatly, a large sheet of ice blocks access to the north. A tunnel to the west can be reached, however. SonicChaos attempts to melt the ice using Minor Flame. However, the fire is not hot enough to melt the ice.

An obelisk is a tall, thin, four-sided, tapering monument which ends in a pyramidal top.


Max touches the obelisk, and a glowing light surrounds all four heroes.

The heroes have gained the Tag ability!

By using the tag ability, two characters can use two similar skills to ahieve an effect that could not be accomplished by using only one skill. This skill can also be used in battle to deal more damage and have possibly other effects. For example, having one character use Ice and another use Minor Frost via the Tag ability would result in an enemy taking a lot more damage and have a slight chance of being frozen for a turn.

Yes, you can do one skill per character!

Sorry about the wait, had finals to take. But finals are all over now, and school is out, so I should have much more time... Except for summer basketball leauge, band lessons, AP History summer work, vacations, Honors English summer reading...

The heroes travel north. Gameboy is the first to enter the new room and stops almost instantly, realizing that he is on the edge of a chasm! Max is second and bumps into gameboy, almost sending him over the edge. bowserfan and pumpkinbob are barely able to enter the room, as the ledge that the heroes are on is extremely small. The room is nearly pitch-black, and the chasm doesn't appear to end.

BOWSERFAN WILL BE REPLACED IF HE DOESN'T RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS!

What do you mean by special effects? If you mean abilities, the Ghosts have the Hover ability which makes them immune to Earth-type spells.
