The following characters have been selected for this mission. Their corresponding players shall be notified via PM:

Onion-GBE (Mr. Onion)
Jalapeno-MJM (bowserfan)
Max-TRN (Max)
Ikamuzu-HAL (Kerma)
Cool-GUY (Coolguy)
Hammer-DWN (Hammer Down)

For one reason or another, all six of these citizens have been promoted to RED clearance, and are now troubleshooters. Congratulations.

A note before we begin: Paranoia is a game of insanity, fear, conspiracy, and last but not least, paranoia. You, as a citizen of Alpha Complex, may experience behavior from both PCs and NPCs that could not be described as kind. In compliance with the rules of Total Mayhem, you must acknowledge that all such meanness is just a game. In addition, know that you will read mention of (highly temporary, since you have six clones) death, destruction, and the mission may even be impossible to complete (though not to escape from with commendation outweighing your treason, if you're really good). Understood?

MISSION ALERT!
You have been activated for your first mission! At last you shall have an opportunity to serve The Computer!
You will be entering CBI Sector on a routine follow-up mission for an overdue troubleshooter group. Among your important duties will be the routine recovery of an important bot brain, and the preparation of a routine report on the status of the overdue troubleshooter group.
Please report immediately to the troubleshooter briefing chamber in PDK sector for your routine mission briefing. Thank you for your cooperation.

Okay now, since I doubt any of you have played Paranoia before (I myself have never GM'd before), let me give you a brief overview of some of the information available at your security clearance, which would otherwise be found in the Player's Handbook. I obviously won't be giving you all the information in the Player's Handbook, since doing so would be treasonous, and I want you to support the fine people who publish this game (Mongoose Publishing, though it used to be West End Games and they're not marketing 1st, 2nd, or 5th edition stuff so much anymore).

All of this information concerns the character sheet you will be getting, and the statistics on it. First are the primary attributes. These are determined by different rolls of the dice, and are relatively important for two reasons: 1. [This information is not available at your security clearance.] 2. They determine your secondary attributes. Your secondary attributes (most of them anyway, some do other things such as [This information is not available at your security clearance.]) provide bonuses to certain types of skill rolls and also [This information is not available at your security clearance.]

Next are places to record your damage, credits, and security clearance. These should be obvious. After that are your service group and (treasonous) secret society, along with your rank in that secret society., which determine your political alliances. Then your (treasonous) mutant power, which can be used to your benefit at the risk of others discovering it. Yes, everybody has a mutant power (or two, or three) and a secret society. Yes, this does mean everybody is a traitor. Fortunately (or unfortunately), out of character knowledge such as this is not sufficient proof of treason. After that is your inventory, which should also be obvious.

Finally, you have the skill tree, which branches out from five major categories to quite a few end skills. You may not spend more than one point in any skill except the skills at the end of the tree. Basically, the first couple points you spend along the path to any particular "leaf" skill are more generalized and grant a bonus to all skills of the same category/subcategory instead of just one. Having a point in one of the root categories turns your minimum base skill of 5% into 20%, then each point you spend that applies to any particular skill increases that by a further 5%.

The rest of the information you are expected to know you should already know if you have been paying enough attention to the Paranoia injokes spreading around the forum.

Any questions? (Other than "Where's our character sheets?", since you should receive those shortly)

"In addition, know that you will read about death (and possibly even hear mention of precious bodily fluids outside of people's bodies)"

No, you won't, because it will be deleted if it happens. All posts on Hamumu must be appropriate for all ages.

Sillyman
03-19-2009, 09:14 PM
Really? Huh, then what's mafia?

Edit: Okay, no blood, obviously (and I think that might have been your point)... but the key point is: Death happens in currently available Hamumu games, and I am planning (at least now, after your clarification of what you consider appropriate for all ages) to discuss it in no more detail than is included in those games (e.g.: You die due to laser/explosion/insertweaponhere damage, Friend Computer deploys your next clone for you as soon as he hears of it). Would that be acceptable? The very reason I mentioned that was to make sure I didn't break any rules commit treason.

Coolguy
03-19-2009, 09:39 PM
Sillyman, I'm pretty sure he was just saying to avoid descriptions of violence, not avoid death.

Sillyman
03-19-2009, 11:36 PM
Hey, the site's back! Yeah, this shouldn't have anything more than "You shoot the traitor with the laser. He gets a wound in the arm.", which coincidentally is exactly the amount of detail in violence that Hamumu games have (except stun/wound/incapacitate/death/vaporized and wound location instead of numerical HP). So I should be fine.

Just as a note: It may take a while to prepare your character sheets. In the meantime, I am perfectly open to questions.

Sillyman
03-20-2009, 11:58 AM
Alrighty then... character sheets have been sent out. Please respond ASAP with skills and initial purchases selected so that the game may begin.

Max
03-20-2009, 09:29 PM
Um I got it! The private sheet that is

Sillyman
03-20-2009, 11:23 PM
...I meant privately, but alright, if you really want to let everybody know you're doing that.

Sillyman
03-21-2009, 06:46 PM
Okie-dokie... I still need character sheets from Bowserfan and Hammer Up (and I'm working with Max).

drgamer
03-27-2009, 10:19 AM
...Need a replacement? I'm pretty much free until June 2nd. Then it'll be spotty until the 30th.

Mr.Onion
03-27-2009, 12:13 PM
The game seems to have died.

Sillyman

...Need a replacement? I'm pretty much free until June 2nd. Then it'll be spotty until the 30th.

Yeah, that'd be peachy keen. I'll, uh... roll up something for you. Namely bowserfan's character sheet. Another replacement will also be needed.

As for the game seeming to have died... that's just me not getting stuff I need to start it.

Julian
03-28-2009, 11:47 AM
I can replace... :)

Sillyman
03-28-2009, 07:35 PM
Onion-R-GBE-1 (Mr. Onion)
Game-R-DOC-1 (drgamer)
Max-R-TRN-1 (Max)
Ikamuzu-R-HAL-1 (Kerma)
Cool-R-GUY-1 (Coolguy)
<Name not found> (Julian)

Alrighty, Julian, I'ma send you a character sheet. I'm working with drgamer. If there's anybody else who isn't here that I should know about, let me know.

Max
03-29-2009, 07:43 AM
Is this game going to start or what?
You're done with my character sheet right?

Sillyman
03-29-2009, 01:15 PM
Yeah, yours is done. Right now we're just waiting on Julian.

drgamer
03-31-2009, 07:43 AM
I can has game start?

Sillyman
03-31-2009, 09:47 AM
... I have five people completely registered. Should I start the game, keep looking for replacements, or is somebody going to respond?

drgamer
03-31-2009, 10:19 AM
Set a game start in 24 hours or something. All you have to do is adjust the difficulty as we play. Just like you'd be doing normally ;)

Sillyman
03-31-2009, 04:38 PM
Actually... I got a response from Julian saying he was feeling a little overwhelmed by the character sheet. And so the game starts now. Or whenever I finish writing the first game post.

Sillyman
03-31-2009, 04:41 PM
The five of you meet, as dictated by the mission alert, in front of your briefing room. INDIGO guards tell you to wait until you are summoned. You think it an excellent idea to introduce yourselves to your teammates while you wait.

(Note: If at any time during the mission you wish to take an action and have it be unnoticed, use the PM system. If you are performing an action in plain sight, post in the thread. Got it?)

drgamer

Hello fellow troubleshooters! You all seem rather quiet. I'm Game-DOC.

Coolguy
04-01-2009, 06:33 AM
Hello, I'm Cool-GUY, the engineering expert. :p

Max
04-01-2009, 07:28 AM
Hello fellow engineer, I'm MAX-R-TRN

Mr.Onion
04-01-2009, 09:03 AM
Hello, I am ONION-R-GBE.

drgamer
04-03-2009, 07:26 AM
*looks around the area*

Sillyman
04-03-2009, 11:54 AM
A buzzer sounds, and the door opens.

Guard: Only four? Really? Well this could be a problem then. Alright, we'll be taking your armaments then.

The guards search you for hidden weapons. They take everybody's standard issue Reflec and Laser, and you notice Mr. Onion's Reflec looks a bit thicker than usual. Then they usher you in.

You are in a wide and shallow briefing room, standing before a "bench" like is found in a courtroom. Four Vulture Squadron (basically elite forces) guards with very dangerous-looking experimental weaponry are here, one on each side of both the door you entered and a side door, which you assume is meant for your superiors.

Any actions out of the ordinary? Noncombat time will pass on April 4th.

Coolguy
04-03-2009, 03:20 PM
I immediately kill the- Oh, wait, no guns. :p

Alright, I'll try looking at the dangerous experimental weaponry, and hopefully learn some techniques with my engineering skills.

By the way, since everything runs on its own power source (which is why I didn't get batteries!), how is everything powered? Nuclear?

Kerma
04-03-2009, 04:00 PM
I shrug my shoulders and tell them I've got nothing on me.

Sillyman
04-03-2009, 04:03 PM
Alright, I'll try looking at the dangerous experimental weaponry, and hopefully learn some techniques with my engineering skills.

Hmm... I'll allow it... But you are unable to deduce anything about the guard's weapons. The NPCs don't appear to notice or care about your examining the weapons, either.

By the way, since everything runs on its own power source (which is why I didn't get batteries!), how is everything powered? Nuclear?

That information is not available at this time.

Edit: It appears Ikamuzu-R-HAL-1 was indeed here, just acting very unnoticable. The guards nod, understanding that you meant "aside from my standard-issue equipment", which they had already taken from you.

drgamer
04-03-2009, 07:26 PM
I look at the experimental weapons myself, what with my R&D background being useful and all. I also look around the room to see if there's something of use/note around.

Sillyman
04-03-2009, 08:37 PM
I look at the experimental weapons myself, what with my R&D background being useful and all.
I'll allow it as a medium attribute check against Mechanical Aptitude... and you fail.

I also look around the room to see if there's something of use/note around.

You see nothing but what I have already described.

Max
04-04-2009, 02:19 AM
I tangle with the experimental weapons and using my engineering skills find out how they are made!

Julian
04-04-2009, 07:14 AM
I suddenly jump in through the door, apologizing for being late.

Sillyman
04-04-2009, 10:50 AM
I tangle with the experimental weapons and using my engineering skills find out how they are made!
No, no you do not.

I suddenly jump in through the door, apologizing for being late.
You just barely made it, as you see the briefing officer walking through the side door right after you arrive.

INDIGO, GREEN, YELLOW, and two ORANGE clearance citizens enter and stand at the other side of the bench. You read on their nametags that they are Peter-I, Winch-G, Ness-Y, Dr. Num-O, and Rolly-O.

(GM Note: This briefing may take a while. I am including all the questioning from the campaign, but instead of requiring an answer from one specific person or from everybody, only one person shall be required to answer. (unless, of course, they're wrong) Any answer within 24 hours will be considered instantaneous.)

Peter-I: "Welcome, Troubleshooters. I know you are all eager to serve The Computer and Alpha Complex. I am pleased to offer you such an opportunity.

"The Computer understands that you are all raw, inexperienced Troubleshooters. In its wisdom, it has selected a routine mission of considerable importance. Further it has selected an experienced troubleshooter (gestures at Winch-G) as your leader and guide. Under such fortunate circumstances, we are sure you will successfully complete the mission." (pauses and gives each of you a menacing look)

"This mission will take you to... what sector, citizens?"

Coolguy
04-04-2009, 11:09 AM
CBI Sector?

Sillyman
04-04-2009, 11:30 AM
"And your mission objectives are... Well, perhaps you recall the objectives from the Mission Alert, citizens?"

Julian
04-04-2009, 12:01 PM
It's a routine follow-up mission. We will be obtaining a bot brain and writing a report on the overdue troubleshooting group.

Sillyman
04-04-2009, 01:22 PM
"Here are a few more details on the objectives of your assignment.

"First, concerning the robot retrieval. There is a specific robot in CBI Sector that must be located and delivered to Research and Development. A device has been designed to provide a directional fix on this robot once you are within about a kilometer of it. This device will be provided to you by Research and Development.

"Second, there is some inventory unaccounted for after a previous mission to CBI Sector. You will be provided with a list of the items that are missing. You will of course locate these items during your visit to CBI Sector and make every effort to return them to us.

"Third, there are several Troubleshooters unaccounted for after a previous mission to CBI Sector. You will be provided with descriptions and identifying marks for each of these Troubleshooters. You will of course locate these missing citizens and return them to us.

"Fourth, you will each prepare a report on the current state of affairs in CBI Sector. Since the unfortunate life support malfunction and subsequent abandoning of occupation and maintenance in CBI Sector, your expedition will give us an idea of what must be done to make it suitable for resettlement.

"One additional note about the robot. As Citizen Rolly-O will tell you, bot brains are very valuable. It would be very unfortunate if you were to damage the brain of the robot we are sending you to find. Even if the robot is no longer functional, you must bring the bot brain to us intact. You are to consider yourselves expendable in this matter. The bot brain is of paramount importance.

"Before you are sent on this mission, you will be taken to a Production, Logistics, and Comissary unit for outfitting. You will also be taken to R&D to pick up the bot location device and to receive some experimental equipment R&D is eager to test.

"We are certain that your loyalty and dedication will inspire you to make this mission successful. We confidently await your return and your mission reports. Serve The Computer, and you will be rewarded.

"If you have any questions, your fellow citizens Ness-Y, Dr. Num-O, and Rolly-O will be pleased to assist you. They may also have a few comments or questions for you. I trust you will give them your full cooperation. Thank you."

Peter-I sits down, and Ness-Y begins to speak.

(GM Note: Since you all appear to be good at answering questions, everybody shall answer these questions. Normally you would be questioned one after another, but feel free to answer in any order.)

Ness-Y: "What is your duty to The Computer?"

Coolguy
04-04-2009, 01:36 PM
To do everything our cyber-savior Friend Computer tells us to do with love and happiness.

Mr.Onion
04-04-2009, 01:40 PM
And, of course, to weed out commie mutant traitors.

drgamer
04-04-2009, 01:49 PM
My Answer:"Our duties to The Computer are to follow all instructions that The Computer has given, in its wisdom, to us. In following these instructions, we are to do our best to prevent damage to Computer property and terminate any positively identified communist mutant traitors."

If I'm able to, I ask what course of action shall we take if the bot brain is not intact when we arrive.

EDIT: and I was ninja'd... (of course I don't say that)

Sillyman
04-04-2009, 02:15 PM
It's not quite yet time for questions... you can't get a word in beyond your responses at the moment.

Julian
04-05-2009, 07:38 AM
To love Friend Computer, serve out Friend Computer's orders happily, and weed out Commie Mutant Traitors.

Max
04-05-2009, 08:30 AM
Then I'll shut up and carefully look at the guards weapons, armor etc.

Sillyman
04-05-2009, 01:47 PM
Ness-Y: "Hmm... that is correct, but Max-R and Ikamuzu-R seem to be silent. May I remind you that response is mandatory?"

Ness-Y: "If you were a tree, what sort of tree would you be?"

drgamer
04-05-2009, 06:02 PM
I do not have a clue as to what a 'tree' is, but in any case I would be the sort of tree that helps The Computer any way it can.

Kerma
04-05-2009, 06:33 PM
I would be a dead tree, due to the fact that I start and end many conflicts.

Coolguy
04-05-2009, 10:51 PM
I wouldn't pick a type of tree, because that would imply that I'm a species-ist!

Max
04-06-2009, 06:18 AM
If I was a tree....Then most definately I would have been a tree under the control of the Computer, therefore I may not choose what tree I might be, I will be the tree that Friend Computer wishes me to be!

drgamer
04-06-2009, 07:43 PM
*is quite shocked at this turn of events from just one simple question*

Coolguy
04-07-2009, 01:06 PM
What's the next question?

Sillyman
04-07-2009, 04:04 PM
Well, I was giving Julian-R and Onion-R more time to respond, but ah well, they can take the treason points...

Ness-Y: "What would you do if you discovered evidence that I, Ness-Y, might be a traitor?"

Julian
04-07-2009, 05:31 PM
Terminate you.

And if I were a tree, I would be the kind of tree that was actually not a tree, so that I could still help Friend Computer and live the life of a person.

OOC: Sorry, this topic falls too much as it's in TM. May I reccomend PMing people who aren't responding?

drgamer
04-07-2009, 07:53 PM
As troubleshooters, it is our duty to nullify any and all traitor threats.

Mr.Onion
04-08-2009, 03:03 AM
As troubleshooters, it is our duty to nullify any and all traitor threats.
I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Max
04-08-2009, 05:39 AM
I would do the same as any servant of Friend Computer would do!
I would terminate you immediately!!

Coolguy
04-08-2009, 11:23 AM
I would immediately terminate you, and then terminate your friends and family who may also be corrupted, and then report this to Friend Computer.

drgamer
04-08-2009, 06:51 PM
OOC: This should either be the last question, or you need to post the rest of the questions at once, so we can all answer them at the same time; this one question at a time is taking toooo long.

Sillyman
04-08-2009, 11:59 PM
Actually, funny you should say that. This was the last one anyway I made anyway.

Ness-Y: "I am shocked and appalled that you would be able to imagine me a traitor, but your loyalty is duly noted."

Peter-I: "Any questions?"

Coolguy
04-09-2009, 11:07 AM
No, please let us do our mission and keep Friend Computer happy! :p

Julian
04-09-2009, 04:37 PM
Nope. I just want to get going!

Max
04-09-2009, 10:10 PM
Let us serve Friend Computer until we die....

Sillyman
04-10-2009, 10:35 AM
Peter-I: "Very well then, you're dismissed."

You leave, and the guards give you back your stuff. Winch-G leads you off to go to PLC, but before you get there he pulls you into a side alley.

Winch-G: "Okay. Listen up, jerks, and listen up good. I've been around a long time, and I ain't gonna let no wet-behind-the-ears jerks get me killed.
I'll drill the first one of you that steps out of line.

"Now I'm in charge here. Follow orders or I'll roast you. If something happens to me, and it don't kill me, but you cut and run without rescuing me, you can be sure I'll survive. And I'll come looking for you.

"Not one of you here is smart or fast enough to double-cross me. Don't try it.

"Now, I need a volunteer."

Julian
04-10-2009, 11:05 AM
Ooh! ME!

Sillyman
04-10-2009, 11:32 AM
Winch-G pulls Julain-R-QZY aside... (check PMs) and then comes back and leads you all... to an office, where he stops and picks up three INFRARED laborers:

Lubi-GSV-2: A big brute.
Paul-GSV-1: A shrimpy person, who fidgets a lot.
Mani-GSV-3: Blends into the surroundings somewhat, and seems rather attentive for an INFRARED.

Then, finally, he leads you to PLC.

Current course will continue in a day. Actions may, as always, be inserted at any point in the most recent GM post.

Sillyman
04-11-2009, 11:17 AM
PLC Employee: "Thank you for visiting PLC, what may we do for you... oh, it's the troubleshooter group sent to CBI Sector. You'll be wanting these, I presume."

The employee hands you some poorly drawn maps of CBI Sector, on RED paper, as well as descriptions of all missing Troubleshooters and their equipment.

In addition to this, Winch-G receives an operator's passkey to a 10-man autocar parked outside.

PLC Employee: "You have been allocated 50 credits' worth of equipment, to be chosen now. Do note that equipment received on this credit remains The Computer's property, licensed to you for the purposes of completing this mission, and is to be brought back in good condition if at all possible. Failure to do so is treasonous, punishable by fine or execution. Wasting equipment such as ammunition and explosives is treasonous, punishable by fine or execution. You may apply your own personal credits to allocated equipment if you wish, and at the completion of the mission may purchase the equipment outright or, if the equipment is intact, receive a refund. You may also pool allocated equipment credit to purchase a single item, if you so desire."

The employee then hands you a list of items available at RED clearance:

Hand Laser: 100 credits
RED Hand Laser Barrel: 50 credits
Laser Rifle: 300 credits
RED Laser Rifle Barrel: 80 credits
Grenade: 50 credits
Throwing Knife: 15 credits
Bow: 100 credits
20 arrows: 50 credits
Knife: 10 credits
Sword: 80 credits
Club: 10 credits

Field Telephone (note: not wireless): 100 credits
Shielded Field Telephone: 150 credits
Com I: 100 credits

RED Reflec: 100 credits
Leather Armor: 50 credits
Padding: 20 credits
Chain mail: 100 credits
Plate mail: 500 credits
Polished Plate mail: 600 credits
Asbestos clothing: 100 credits
Environment Suit: 500 credits
Kevlar armor: 200 credits

Other miscellaneous equipment may be available on request.

(GM Note: Pretty much anything you could find in an Old Reckoning sporting goods store could probably be found here, though it may be above your security clearance.)

PLC Employee: "In addition to this discretionary equipment, you shall also be provided with weapons, to be distributed by your group leader. Some of this equipment is normally above your security clearance level. However, as assigned equipment, it has been re-clearanced for your convenience. You shall receive the following:

2 slugthrowers, with 200 rounds of Solid ammo, and 50 rounds of high explosives.
2 laser rifles, with 2 RED barrels
2 boxes, of 20 grenades each.

Additional equipment may also be requested beyond the equipment we have issued and your 50 discretionary credits. You may request equipment above your security clearance, and it will be re-clearanced if the request is accepted. Furthermore, two bots shall be issued: a Docbot model V, and a Jackobot Model 360. Finally, a Multicorder I with two programs, Visible Light and Bot Damage Analysis, shall also be issued."

Winch-G: "I'll need a volunteer to operate the Jackobot and another to operate the Multicorder. Also, feel free to state which special weapons you wish to operate."

Julian
04-11-2009, 11:38 AM
Do the laser rifles have scopes? If not, I'll buy one. If so, I'll buy a compact laser handgun and all associated items needed, plus a case for it that I can either wear around my belt that I'm assuming I have or as a sling over my shoulder,

Sillyman
04-11-2009, 01:15 PM
I don't know whether or not they have scopes... but you can't afford it. I'll take that as "Ask Winch-G to assign me a Laser Rifle."

And no, there are no associated items needed (except a barrel... it functions as ammunition) Coincidentally, you already have one standard-issue Hand Laser as part of your standard-issue Troubleshooter equipment.

Items taken:
Julian-R-QZY: Laser Rifle from issued weapons, 50 credits left.

Coolguy
04-11-2009, 06:32 PM
Whoever has weapon skills should take from the pile first. I don't (except Weapon Maintenance :p ).

How much does a plasma knife cost? >: D

Sillyman
04-11-2009, 09:04 PM
Plasma knife? Above your security clearance and request denied.

Max
04-12-2009, 12:55 AM
Laser rifle for me too!

Coolguy
04-12-2009, 10:23 AM
How about a sling weapon? :p

I'll take a slugthrower, just because I can probably repair it if it breaks.

drgamer
04-12-2009, 10:48 AM
I'll take a knife and a throwing knife.

Sillyman
04-12-2009, 12:40 PM
I'll take a knife and a throwing knife.

Acknowledged. 25 credits remaining for assigned equipment.

Edit: Wait, don't you already have a knife as part of your standard issue equipment? Huh. 35 credits remaining unless you want two.

Julian
04-12-2009, 12:45 PM
What happened to the 100 credits that we had at the beginning?

Sillyman
04-12-2009, 02:19 PM
You still have them... this equipment is loaned to you for this mission, those credits are used to buy things for yourself. By the way, you can spend them here as well, as the PLC employee said.

Julian
04-12-2009, 02:56 PM
Why do I only have 50 left then? Did I pay 100 for the Laser Rifle?

drgamer
04-12-2009, 03:51 PM
I'll take some padding then.

Coolguy
04-12-2009, 08:09 PM
Again, how much does a sling weapon cost? :p

Sillyman
04-12-2009, 08:31 PM
Why do I only have 50 left then? Did I pay 100 for the Laser Rifle?

Those 50 are different. They don't belong to you, anything you get with them is assigned for this mission... and I'm not gonna post publicly what personal equipment you have. If you wanna buy something instead of having it assigned, go ahead and post as such.

drgamer: Padding applied (nonpermanently) to standard issue RED Reflec armor. 15 credits worth of assigned equipment remaining.

Coolguy: A sling? Hmm... no rules for that... Alright, I guess I'll call it as slightly more powerful than unarmed but projectile instead of melee. And it'll cost ya 10 credits. With no ammunition of any kind.

Ha, that's why I got that bucket of rocks! :D

I'll switch weapons from the slugthrower (somebody else can have it) to the grenades box, so I can grenade stuff from far away through sling-power. Maybe I can use my plasticord to make my sling even longer ranged. >: D

(By the way, remember that slings launch stuff farther than bows do! ('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sling_(weapon)#Combat'))

I'll buy a sling.

How much does any of the following cost? (I'm just trying to think of random stuff that could be helpful... I can think of a lot of nice uses for these :D ):
-Box of Matches
-Hand Mirror
-Whip
-Ice-Nine
-Bottle of Poison (Must be injected, swallowed, or inhaled into an enemy)

Matches: ... 1 credit?
Mirror: 5 credits?
Whip: 20 credits?
Ice-Nine: I'm sorry, that information is not available at this time.
Poison: Special request?

And about the sling's range... sure, alright... noting.

You didn't give me the laser rifle! Fine I'll buy a sword and a throwing knife!

Requesting stuff from Winch-G's supply will let him know that you want it, you may or may not get it once everybody's decided their stuff. Most likely if only one other person asks for the same thing you'll get it.

You special-request the sword since you can't afford it... and they let you have it and the throwing knife, but you can't take anything else (except your one weapon from Winch-G or if you outright buy it).

Kerma: No. Just no. That's highly, highly treasonous, and requesting it in the open lets everybody know you're a traitor. You might want to ask for stuff like that in private from your secret society instead of from loyal citizens of the Computer. You're executed for treason, and your next clone is deployed. Everybody, say hello to Ikamuzu-R-HAL-2.

I can't believe that Kerma was a traitor to our savior Friend Computer! That villain!

Also, hello to the new Kerma, who is probably not a criminal!

Sorry for double-posting, but who else needs to take weapons so we can start?

Also, I suggest putting a link to this topic in your signature, since the topic sinks down so rapidly and people are probably forgetting about it. That's why I have a big obnoxious Current T&T Events signature so people know if the topic is updated. :p

Julian: Asked for a Laser Rifle, 50 loaned credits
Max: Asked for a Laser Rifle, Sword, Throwing Knife. No more credits allocated.
Coolguy: Asked for a slugthrower, sling, 40 loaned credits
drgamer: Throwing Knife, Padding, 15 loaned credits
Kerma: ... Not getting any assigned equipment from PLC now.
Mr. Onion: I'm gonna go prod him.

Edit: Link added, with status information. That Quickinfo section shows clone number, clearance, grouping, and alertness. And maybe more stuff. Players separated by commas, in the order they're on my character sheet document. Which, coincidentally, is Onion-R, Game-R, Max-R, Ikamuzu-R, Cool-R, Julian-R. Just so you know.

So did I get the stuff?
Anyway are we beginning or what?

Sillyman

You have a sword and a throwing knife, and a good chance that Winch-G will decide to give you the Rifle...

Anyway, Mr. Onion got an extra knife and two throwing knives. Since everybody now has something, equipment assignments will be finalized tomorrow.

Max: Asked for a Laser Rifle, Sword, Throwing Knife. No more credits allocated.
Coolguy: Asked for grenades, sling, 40 loaned credits
drgamer: Throwing Knife, Padding, 15 loaned credits
Kerma: Nothing
Mr. Onion: Knife, Two Throwing Knives

And that's it.

Julian gets a Laser Rifle.
Max gets a Laser Rifle.
Coolguy gets grenades.
drgamer gets grenades.
Kerma gets a slugthrower (and 25 High Explosive and 100 Solid rounds, choose which one to load first)
Mr. Onion gets a slugthrower (and 25 High Explosive and 100 Solid rounds, choose which one to load first)

With the remaining credits (and a bit of negotiation) Winch-G gets an extra barrel for each of the Laser Rifles, so Julian and Max have 2 RED barrels now.

Departing for R&D...

You board the autocar, along with Winch-G, the infrareds, and the bots, and drive through a long transit tunnel, past what looks to be the ruins of another R&D facility, and finally arrive at R&D, an isolated facility far from the rest of the sector. You are then directed through a GREEN door (which the guard opens for you, of course) into a large room filled with strange and unusual devices.

You see an INDIGO citizen with two BLUE bodyguards, called Peter-I. He motions you toward some cheap RED seats, and you sit down.

Peter-I: Greetings, citizens. You understand, of course, that testing these items is a duty of great importance to The Computer. If any of them work correctly, they may become a great asset. If, however, they don't... well, RED clearance citizens are expendable. These devices, however, are not. Therefore, loss or destruction of experimental equipment, as with all computer property, is punishable by fine or execution. Do note, however, that a detailed and accurate report on the function and usefulness of one of these devices can earn you a substantial bonus in credits or even commendation. So... may I have a volunteer to test... er... PDK-R&D-75-90?

Peter-I hands you a battery-powered jackhammer.

Peter-I: "Ah, yes, the portable drill. I think you may find this very useful. Now then... what sort of equipment do you think you might need for this mission?"

Julian
04-16-2009, 01:48 PM
Well, something to help us find a bot brain would be useful.

drgamer
04-16-2009, 02:12 PM
A bot brain diagnostic device, and some sort of bot brain transport that will keep the bot brain safe.

Coolguy
04-16-2009, 02:34 PM
Awww, I thought I bought a hand mirror. :p Oh, well, on with the adventure to please Friend Computer!

Could we get communication devices or equipment manuals?

Sillyman
04-16-2009, 03:49 PM
Yeah, you have it now. Sorry.

Peter-I: "We do indeed have the Bot Location Device you were promised... anything else?"

(Just checking in to answer questions and clarify that you shouldn't ask for the Bot Location Device since yeah, you're gonna get it)

The square root of two.

OOC: Also, 'i' can be a number, but the square root of -1 might not be inbetween 1 and 15

Mr.Onion

AFAIK, i is not inbetween 1 and 15, and isn't < or > any real numbers.

I answered Coolguy.

I'll go ahead and round that to the nearest integer.

If you think that needed an immediate answer, you're wrong. I interpreted it as one of the responses I was looking for as part of the normal course of action. The fact that I only got one doesn't change anything.
