A question for the great Jamul. I'm working for a multimedia firm and from time to time I get to make

a game. I've been thinking about starting my own

company so I can make games all of the time, but

my big question is : Does it pay the bill ?

Well... it's extremely tough. Anybody who is thinking of doing it has to realize that making the games is about 5% of your success. What you have to do to make any money at all is be a master of marketing and business. That's the only chance you have - after all, how are people going to find this website? It's just one of billions. And only a very small percentage of those that visit will be interested enough to buy something (no matter how good your product is - typical numbers are less than 1%), so you will need a LOT of visitors. I struggle a lot with that because I hate business stuff and would like to just sit and make games. The real trick is getting people to market your stuff for you by telling your friends. That's by far the best marketing you can have. So everybody go tell all your friends about this site!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now I am barely squeezing by, but as always, there are lots of deals and new games in the works, so I am hoping to break through and feel comfortable soon. But it's been several years! It's not easy, and it's not for the faint of heart.
