From one struggling developer, not using other
peoples money to build up my title, can Jamul
give some inspiring comment, say that he isn't
just above the poverty line selling his titles
full-time.
No day job Jamul? Is this full-time. Tell us
that you are living comfortable at least.

Thanks for those few words. I'll leave it at that.
It's definitely a struggle with solitary
air to it. The air is quite chilly in my humble
opinion too.
Buying 2 copies, one for myself and one as a legit
gift to a neice.
I recommend those reading this thread to download
and then buy Dr.Lunatic, it's the closest thing
to Zelda on the PC, sans all the 3D mumbo-flumbo
(not jumbo).

I don't have a day job... it's a struggle. I actually make about 80% of my money off of the commercial games, the ones published by eGames. Maybe more like 70%... lately I'm making more in the stock market than anywhere else. Good for me, it takes very little time, no effort, and leaves me time to make games. I'm expecting to make decent money off of Dr. Lunatic, so if you don't buy it I BLAME YOU for my starvation.
The main thing is though, I went into this whole thing with an awful lot of money in the bank. And I never spend money. Those two put together keep me safe, but I know I have to keep coming out with new things. I don't get a break.
But the fundamental answer is: I am making a profit. A much better one than I made working as a programmer at a game company, but then again I WAS vastly underpaid. I think I'm doing all right, and I'm just gonna keep releasing new products, and hopefully they'll feed off of each others' sales and marketing and it'll snowball into a very comfortable life. That's the plan. I like to make games. So I'm gonna keep doing it. But I can't do that unless lots of people buy them, so buy them. NOW. TEN COPIES.

Are you still making a living eight years later? :)

Yes. But not a significantly bigger one, so it needs work!

I still say HPG (with the 3 different versions) would bring in a lot of new customers. :) (Yeah, I know I keep saying that; I'm just really looking forward to it.) Then maybe the 52/52 plan is the way to go!
