i am happy to report that i am halfway through with my world
creation,it is going well,and i have to admit,addictive!i have
re-done and/or deleted some already due to bugs or inspired genius!
!marks' intro was extremely helpful, and made it much easier to
jump into jamuls editor without being intimidated,so now i am
being much more creative than i set out to be.my "testers&
quot; keep bugging me to pump out new stuff daily,so i hope to
be done before thanksgiving. as far as mark setting up a site,
that sounds good to me.personally i prefer step by step instructions,
800x600, have an 11 in.screen.time to go get "luny"
and finish my creation! JVAT

why I don't post "in the prog" is because ezboard has given me this silly user name and I haven't worked out how to change it. Re-apply, I suppose (he says, answering his own question). Anyway, good to see you posting again Sunny, it's been a while. What have you thought about all the new games available? Now let's see if the little icons work

There's your smoker! I saw a message yesterday about how this latest ezboard release had a ton of bugs, so I see they've fixed them. If you want to fix your icons in your other messages, you'll have to edit them. Of course you can't, Mark, since yours was unregistered... but then I could probably edit it as the administrator... but if I did that, it would really ruin the point of your second post. Such a dilemma... I don't know what to do!!! AUGH!!! I'm tearing my hair out!! I like this new ezboard stuff. I'm looking forward to all these apparently on the way levels... now you guys know what it's like when everyone pesters you for new versions!

That wasn't a bug! It's 8 followed by a ), which makes ... it's just hyperactive, not buggy. As for the summoning, a Super DUPER zombie won't add any brains to a level, so you can do that. If you wanted to add a zombie or super zombie, you could cheat by doing the following convoluted thing mark was too scared to mention:
put the proper number of brains somewhere in your level, unattainable (and preferably not visible) - 1 for a zombie, 2 for a super zombie. Wait, I was gonna add some convoluted junk but it's much easier than that! Just put in the right number of extra brains, and put them somewhere the player won't ever see them or touch them. Voila! Now when they kill the zombie and pick up the brains, they'll have the right number, and they'll never need to know there were more hidden.

i have been trying to finish off a world i'm creating and have run into a problem.what i would like to do is after killing a monster, have another(different) one pop up,is this possible? i have set the trigger to-KILL ALL MONSTERS N,place the number of that monster in the trigger box(for instance, boneheads 002),then in the effect area, place the new monsters number, for instance, super duper zombie 05 in that box, plus type in the co-ordinates of where i would like it to pop up.do i need to chain it together,or am i just beating my head against the wall? i have pored over the editor many times and it seems like a simple thing to do,any help would be appreciated! #1, who's gonna believe an unregistered pygmy? And #2, it's not the toes, it's the way they squished the picture... looks rather scary, but I swear it's not accurate.

Master Jamul, would you care to elaborate on the swap map function? to begin with you say,"set target X and Y to the upper left of target location,if i do this at the very upper left of the map,i would be at co-ordinates 000,000 ,correct? next type in the message field text indicating the entire rectangle you want to swap with target X,target Y.your example states "like this 5,6-10,20.this swaps the rectangle stretching from 5,6 to 10,20 with the rectangle starting at X and Y of the same size. in my small world map i would like to swap the rectangle that starts at 000,000(upper left) down to 005,000(lower left),over to 006,000 (upper right) down to 006,005 (lower right), with the rectangle that starts at 013,014 (upper left),down to 013,019 (lower left),over to 019,014 (upper right),down to 019,019 (lower right). how do indicate this in my message field text? i have tried many ways and have not any success.your totally unworthy servant,JVAT

Ok, I've given in and re-applied to ezboard. You'll have to get used to the new monicker ('tis I, Mark). You'll also notice a new e-mail address. You can keep using the old one as well, as I'm going to keep 2 ISPs running. I know some people don't like aol but, here in the UK, they're the first decent sized ISP to offer unmetered web access for a flat monthly charge that is about 75% less than the 'phone bill I often run up. So Wahoo for consumer choice and the free market, and yah-boo-sucks to British Telecom for overcharging me these past few years.

DRAT! My post was erased when I got too into the preview function!!!!!!
The gist is this: as Mark says, you can't swap the edges of the map (it's actually a bug, shh, don't tell anyone). But in order to swap maps, the coordinates in the message field need to be the upper left X,Y and the lower right X,Y. So for your example, you just do:
message: 0,0-6,5
effectX: 13
effectY: 14
or you could flip it, and do:
message: 13,14-19,19
effectX: 0
effectY: 0
YIKES. I just opened new cat food for the cats. It's full of bugs. Hopping bugs. YIKES. Guess I will be returning it. Not that the kitties would dislike chasing hopping bugs...

I'm getting on well with my web site creating. I guess I'll have a fully functioning editing site up and running early in the new year. If anyone's got questions or ideas that they want to see immortalised on the site, now's the time to shout! Mark.
