Swamp Gas

Hi,



I'm very new to this game, although I played the demo a lot until I got the real game. My problem is completely all the tasks in the caves because of the swamp gas!



Almost every time I go in one of them, I die! I've tried running in getting what I need, and getting back out quickly. Now I'm wondering if there's a trick to defeating those purple critters!

First, I need to know why you die. Remember, the gas is flamable,(in other words it can kill you) and to kill the purple critters, remember not to get close to them when they die, as they give out gas, and when they flick out thier toung, gas comes out, which both take 3 hearts down. Oh, yeah, there's something in the FAQ section if you need help on the last puzzle.
