I beat Spooky Castle 100% in about ten minutes. It was easy except for the bat level and the Great Bath.

it took me a few hours, but i got 100% - i did, though, have to look at the hints page to find one keychain and the hidden level. It took a *lot* of replaying certain levels, though.
Lots of fun - thanks for the free download!

I owned the egames version, which I played and beat many times. I have yet to attempt the new version however, and am looking forward to the new levels.

It may be easy, but it sure is fun!
And it's a classic. As in, your Hamumu collection is not complete without it. It's like a piece of Hamumu history. Oh, and did I mention it's fun?

Spooky Castle(Bouapha) is way too easy!
I can't help but feel that people who say things like that are
overexaggerating to feel better. C'mon, Spooky Castle is NOT incredibly easy.
The 4 levels before "The Thing" are relatively tough, esp. of course, "What's
up with these Bats, bro?"
But yea, 100% on both kinds of SC

This was the first hamumu game I got, cause it was free!
So, I was really bad at these types of games...
Then I got 100%(Yay)
The hardest level would have to be the chase, but that was before I got good at these types of games.
I guess the real hardest would have to be that arena level, which is kind of easy too... After you get good at these types of games...

I like the newer freebie version better, with all the extras and what not. Ahh... But the old one is classic. The very first Hamumu monster I saw was Richy Lich, and it has since been one of my favourites. Oh, and the last few levels are hard, I agree. I don't know what I was thinking four years ago!

Me too... Actually, my brother almost got Kid Mystic at Circuit City before that, but they took it out at the last minute, so he got a Sonic and Knuckles 3 pack instead.
I actually didn't have internet at my house until about 6 months ago. Before then ALL my games had to come on CD. So at one point (during my eGames "phase") I bought Collector's Edition (Red one, at least). Most of the games were lame, but Spooky Castle was awesome! (Certainly the best one there.) I loved it, but could never get past the Bats, until a friend tried it over and over until he beat it. NOW I can beat all the levels, but don't play it often anymore because I've got schoolwork. :)

Spooky Castle is fun, I think that it is also kinda hard, most of the levels were easy though! I loved it! I have all 4 keychains and I have 100%! I'm gonna play it again it's so fun!

I know this is off-topic, but if you think about it, a lot of Hamumuians found Hamumu through E-Games. If Jamul hadn't included Spooky Castle or Kid Mystic in their game bundle, Hamumu would be a lot less popular.
Sort-of On Topic: The cave with the scary bats is the worst in my opinion. Those bats! Grrrrr... If you don't know where to find a hammer there, you're done for. (I died 50 times before I knew where to look)

I'm sure that's very true, Wesley!
Oh, and those [...] bats were very tough to beat. I finally figured out that the best way is to move continually stay on the left wall, until you enter a corridor and then take a pathway upwards that holds a hammer and about 6 Chinese food packs. Then you stay there and pound bats from your safety point down into the long hallway.

I have 100% too. I really, really dislike The Chase. The first time I did it, I ran out of bullets.
The Battleground was difficult at the start, but after I learnt how to get around it, it became challenging and entertaining.
I used to have a lot of problems with What's Up With The Bats?, but after reading the Spooky Castle FAQ, it became so easy that it was shocking.
The second the level starts, don't even wait for it finish fading in, start running for the upper left of the map. Dodge past all the bats. Take the very first left that's available. You'll find a hammer, and then keep proceeding straight up and you'll find yourself in a little alcove with a fairly large amount of chinese food laying around. Stand in this room by the food, and start tossing hammers out into the corridor (first take care of any bats that happen to have come in the room with you). Keep tossing hammers until about 5 billion bats have squeaked in agony, grabbing food as needed. You'll know you're done when the continuous peeping noise has finally ended and your sanity has returned.
I like the "5 billion bats have squeaked in agony" and "continuous peeping noise" part.
My favourite level is A Hot Bath. My least favourite, The Chase.

My favourite level is A Hot Bath.
I use to love that level, but believe it or not, I can't get past the lava anymore! I just can't seem to time it right! So now I beat all the monsters on the beginning side, use the shield cheat, and walk over to the other side.

Those are my favourite/least favourite levels as well. (The graveyard level has always been fun, however) The Hot Bath is simply a smash-all-monsters level, but it's a little more then that, as you also have to search for a key to get in the second area, and walk quickly on the lava stones to make it around the level itself.

Yeah...A Warm Bath (or was it Hot? Blast) is great fun, what with all that Chinese food all over the place and all.
Super Zombie Hoe-Down is just crazy. It was my least favourite level in the old, eGames version.
I like The Lair as well. Powerup spawn! Whee!

The Lair was awesome, but I was surprised how easy it was (given that "Bats" came before that). Oh, and to beat "Hoe Down", I "cheated" by "sticking" each Super Zombie to the upper left hand corner of the wall, so he would try but couldn't reach me. From there, I just pelted him with the one or two hammers I had. :)

I tend to do that as well, rather then running around, trying to avoid zombie earthquakes. Deadly zombie earthquakes.

Yea, the Zombie Quakes are really annoying, esp. in "Battlefield" (if that's what it's called), because it's hard to manuver. (The worst part about that level is usually the VERY beginning.) :)

Is that the one wwith the super zombie that chases you?
Try to get him stuck on wwalls and make sure that all of your bullets hit him, you'll need most of them in order to kill him.
After that you'll have access to some rockets(and food?) and the rest is easy.
That's all that I can think of as far as help...
Other than the locations for the guns... I think there are three(maybe four, though I think it was three) One is right by the start, you go up and wwake the zombie, then out the tunnel and down and to the right.
After that gun, you go up and to the right and I think there is water there, at the top there is a hole in the wall that has a gun in it.
From there you go left and up, IIRC there is a large rectangular room with the last gun in the top right corner. Make sure the zombie doesn't follow you in because you will likely get hurt, and maybe even die.
Then again, I might not even be thinking of the right level :)

And don't stand right next to any wall while shooting. some of your bullets get stuck in walls and you lose.

There's a new version of Spooky Castle? Oo I thought the version on the site was the same that had been on eGames game collection CDs.
EDIT: Hm, that does look different. I wonder how long that's been on the site, and why I've never heard of it.

It didn't actually lack instructions at all - just certain of the bundle packs (maybe just one?) that eGames offered, they didn't include the instructions! I think there were others that did.

Actually, Jamul, I used to have an eGames installer for Spooky Castle that did install the basic instructions (not the walkthrough, though).
Speaking of which, you're not going to update the Spooky Castle FAQ, are you?
