When you first do "The Vault," when you get inside the vault and the guy tells you there are two ways to go and you can only go through one of them, go into the way that leads to the spell. After getting the spell, pause the game and hit "Give Up." When you return to the Overworld, you will still have the spell! You can then go back into the level and go the way with all the money.
