Hey, this is one heck of a s-t-r-e-t-c-h....But, the past few months
have been really great. Someday, I wonder if I will ever meet any of you.
The chances are slim, and most people like to have that "comfort zone"
behind that computer screen of ours...But hey, I like to travel.

I can't go anywhere for awhile (Saving for a wedding), but maybe after
Mouse can walk again, and we are married, Mouse and I will go on some trips.
The farthest I've gone is to Mexico, Grand Caymen, and Jamaca.
England would be nice to visit in a couple years.

But if I were to go somewhere new, I'd at least like to say hi to at least one Hamumu nut.

But thats not for a long time anyway. But if anyone is passing through Connecticut, stop by, say Hi!

- Ducky (Good thing no one knows what I look like  !)

I was in Groton last year for a wedding. My husband has family up there.

Whereabouts in Connecticut? I have relatives in Southington whom I usually visit for the winter holidays, but I don't live in the state myself.

Well...I am 5 mins away from the I-95 & I-91 crossover. (Ok, I'm in New Haven)
I like traveling to Southington...the last Drive-In I know...but I think it is closed now until someone buys it again.....sigh...It was great..32oz cola for $2.25....boxes of candy for $1. And that was only 2 years ago..

Are you sure that wasn't the price for a 2 oz cola, 32 years ago?

Nope. It was that price...Fountain soda in a large cup. Honest. :?
It was great....but that was before Mouse...so I never got the chance to
take her...pity...

Hello Ducky! Although I rarely reply to the Forum (very bad eyesight) I am a faithful reader and even have my son occasionally read some of the threads to me! You could invite all of us to your wedding! Imagine Mouse's surprise when we show up in all our glorious dumbness! No? OK, I understand. She would probably tear off one of your wings and beat you with it! In any case, I want to wish you both years and years of happiness! Also, this next question is none of my business, but should the two of you have any offspring, would they be dice or mucks? Just wondering.

Also, Hammered, surely you remember 6 oz bottles of Coke for a dime? Maybe candy bars for the same price? I know you aren't as old as I am, but I was still paying that price when I was first married and you were.....well, maybe you aren't old enough. sigh

Funny, Christian and I were also speculating on the consequences of interspecies marriage!

By the way, I can remember nickel candy bars!

Gasp!! Wasn't life nicer when a little change could make you happy? But, whatever did we do without computers? Or Hamumu?

True. Without computers, how would I have made a living for over 30 years?

I can remember nickel candy bars!

Well, I'm not all that old, but when I was little and we used to visit grandma & grandpa, there was a store that sold bottles (glass bottles) of Coke for a nickel. Then we would get a bag of peanuts, pour them into the Coke, and drink up. Yum! Which is strange, because I don't like Coke or peanuts! :?

On your next birthday, check your mailbox. I plan to make a cross stitch wall hanging that I think will go perfectly with your ... err ... decor.

I like my bifocals,
My dentures fit me fine;
My hearing aid is perfect,
But Lord, how I miss my mind!

P.S.
Dear TM Moderator,

Please don't delete my post!

Sincerely,

Hah, that's all you know! It's trifocals! And even without a hearing aid I will be able to hear you scream as I reach for the delete button on your post!

Ducky, I'd love to meet you, or any other Hamumians if you ever visit England, but I'm not sure how my parents would react to a bunch of nutters turning up on our doorstep.

Just kidding!

Estoy en California.
Near Sacramento, actually. Tiny little town. Not too far from Jamul, methinks. :P

POP - If you are near Sacramento, you are much closer to me than to Jamul, I think. I'm in Fairfield, which is midway between Sacramento and San Francisco.

AtkinsSJ - As a parent and grandparent I can imagine how your parents would react to our showing up on your doorstep!! It wouldn't be pretty!
