I sense an emerging trend in graphic signatures. Only problem is, now you have less space to insert your world progress text or whatever it was that you previously had in there. Unless that information is cleverly included in the image itself.

It's elementary math, my dear Watty. Each line of Normal-sized text is 12 pixels high, and there are 6 pixels of spacing between lines. Simibhu's signature is 48 pixels high, so we simply add 12 and 6 in an alternating fashion until we get to 48. If you do the math, that turns out to be exactly 3 lines high (not counting the spacing after the last line, because it doesn't exist unless there are lines after the graphic).

Am i right in thinking that my soon-to-be image sig has to be under 84 pixels?

84 pixels is five lines high, which is the maximum (the spacing after the last line does not exist unless there's a line after it, in which case it's not the last line anymore). However, an 84-pixel image would leave no room for any other signature content, and it might be slightly more obtrusive than the more modest three-liners.
