I looked up the symbol for the private
I know what the less sign in 3rd grade math is
but the answer bar won't accept my answer as true.

Yes, there is! Make sure you have the direction right, then think real hard about what the thing you are looking for would look like in that direction.

OK I have been stuck on this puzzle for a couple of weeks now and it is begining to drive me nuts. I've read every clue here and tried several of what I thought were the correct answers. Would someone mind terribly helping me out here. I don't want the answer just some more help.

See that? Toss it around. It is standing the same way as its hint, so which way is it standing when you look at it from the question?

And by standing, I mean its position.

And don't let that 'grade 3 math' hint throw you off, cuz it shouldn't. Its a good hint. Well, its not any greater than the other ones; quite the opposite in fact. Nevertheless, it should be helpful.;)

P.S.: After the time it took me to figure this one out, I've now discovered just how dumb I am. :D Eeeyyyyy. :mrgreen:

i just figured it out, i have a really funny story too.... bbut i cant tell you it without spoiling the answer :p

anyways, as stated, google marine first class (or whatever it was) once you see its connection with the two side clues, the answer is obvious.
