Look carefully at the background. That should give you a clue what the numbers mean.

As for me, there was only a dozen or so possibilities once I figured out the second clue, so I ended up brute forcing it. I got the text for the first clue, but still don't understand it, even knowing the answer. Did anyone else solve the puzzle all the way through, and can you give me some kind of hint? That's the first one I just guessed at :(

I'm normally all thumbs at these things, in this case it helped to use my thumbs.. and looking at the picture helped me get started

...I feel like I would be much better at this if I could tell what the background picture is... I really can't see anything :?

The text from the 1st line helped me more than the 2nd line. there was a message from Jamul about some google functionality that might prove handy.

While I found this relatively easy, a couple things to note: that thing in the background, you need to use a much older type than the ones in the picture as it leads to a couple letters being very off (notably with the number 7)

OK, I got the message from the numbers easy enough, but I'm still totally lost. I guess I'm supposed to put in some actor's surname, but that's just from the title and test at the bottom.

how will the older ones be any different? i dont get how the number 7 would be different if all the rest are the same, or more or less... i thought i could guess what the wrong letters were but the last three words make no sense to me!!

EDIT: scratch that i just added an extra 7 in on each instance of 7!

I've translated the numbers to text and the coordinates into two numbers.
How can I translate the coordinates into the first name? Could I get a little hint (PM is also good) on how to do it (initials?) and how to get the movie name?

You know, I had the same problem. I got the answer pretty quickly, but I had to just try everything person. I still don't see how the "first name" clue relates.

the first name is a combination of how you solve the second part and a tool we've all used before to get answers for puzzles

You can probably ask any high-school girl for help with deciphering the code, they'll be keyed in on it already.

It took me a long time to figure it out.

I just kept guessing all of the actors that I knew about. I was going through the movies at home and writing down a list of famous/semi-famous actors.

I totally got what movie it was, and I looked it up on IMDB, but what I don't know is how the first bit tells us the actor's first name. The phrase brings to mind a number, but what do you do with it? Coordinates to what?

I loved this puzzle! I may even go as far to say it's my favorite. Although, I still have no idea how the first set of coordinates gives us the person's first name.

antifuse's first post made the puzzle a LOT easier.

Edit: Ohhhhhhhhhh, nevermind. I think I just figured out the first name bit. Tricky tricky.

I've figured out what this puzzle says, but alas, that's only half the battle! Judging by the commentary on this puzzle, many people didn't use the first name coordinates bit to come up with an answer. Good, because I don't see what to apply the coordinates to.

So that leaves me with finding the movie from the second part of the clue. I can't seem to make any headway here at all. The only thing I can think would work is if you use synonyms of the last three words? Is that why it says "like"? (sorry about the spoiler!)

I really don't know if I'm on the right track at all. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, the first part of the puzzle is very helpful once you get the second part. I guess you could just run through the list cast list, but that's not very exciting.

I don't know how to be clearer, but for the first part: the coordinates are coordinates. What do you do with coordinates? Do that and see where you are.

For the second part, you ought to be able to google the three word phrase. The first return is the type of thing. You need a synonym for it.

Hope that's not too much to make it fun.

I, for one, did not get the second portion until I had solved it, then I traced back the name, and a there was a nice reference to something I had previously googled.

To figure out the code, try text messaging a friend.

Anyway, the first portion should give you coordinates (two numbers) as it says. Then google it and you're where you need to be, although a view from farther away might help.

After that, I just went through the (incredibly small) list of the type of person you're looking for with that name.

the first name is a combination of how you solve the second part and a tool we've all used before to get answers for puzzles

I've sovled the puzzle backwards, figuring out what the "coordinates" are from the name rather than vice versa -- and I think this clue is rather weak, since it requires you to make a couple of assumptions.

But I still have no idea what lexie is talking about here.
