If I do the math the way it's listed, I come up with negative amounts. That doesn't seem possible. Any suggestions?

Don't worry about the amounts, just worry about what's in it.

I think I know where you got the negative from.. look around the image for something that looks like your negative part :P
On the other hand, I get a single word out of that equation, but googling for that with 'name change 1950' etc doesn't give me anything..

Any luck solving this Titan? You sounded like you were getting close to the answer, and I was wondering if my hint was helpful.

Hmm...these hints haven't helped me. I've tried all sorts of potential leads based on possible combinations, but they haven't panned out. Have I just not conjured the magical correct combination, or...?

No, I am still not able to come up with a solution. I can't get past the negative parts. There is a lot of variability with this topic, which doesn't help. Also, if I try options with all or parts of the ingredients, I don't come up with any helpful solutions.
Unfortunately, I'm beginning to find these puzzles more frustrating that fun.

I think I might be able to help.
First, if you have any negative numbers consider it zero. You might even subtract out something that isn't even in the equation. That's OK, it's just zero. Second, the ingredients will vary depending on what site you go to. I wasn't able to solve it until I started Googling each part of the equation and clicking on the first option(if that makes sense).
You sound like you're very close to the solution, so don't give up yet. Let me know if you're still stuck after this and I'll PM you.

Hmm. That's awfully close. I'll leave you with this clue: "gin gin" is not just gin.

if you stick to the essentials, you shouldn't get any extra "pieces" when the math is done.

There were some MASSIVE spoilers posted in this topic. Please try to stick with HINTS.
(For the confused, there was a post above Guest's that included basically a complete solution)

Sadly, despite seeing the original messages in this thread, I still don't have a clue where to go next. I've now worked out two possibilities for the final 'word', but like with puzzle 32, it leaves me clueless. Nothing relating to that word has changed its name in that year.

I consider myself a conniseur of this general topic, but don't have a clue. I must have missed the "Spoiler" Jamul was talking about. I don't see numbers in this!! Help!

Ahh, my hint that I can give - is to ignore numbers entirely. I.E., when subtracting, subtract the whole amount.
I hope this isn't TOO much of a hint...

my problem is that i cant figure out what the pictures represent. if anyone can help me out with that, id apreciate it.
I end up with two "items" which leads to one solution, but I'm not getting the name change thing.
Am I completely off?

if it's a last name, then probably we're talking about a person

Let me just say, "what" is a lot more important than "how much," and if you find a good resource, stick with it.
This one was a ton of fun, actually.

Actually, for me, this was the best hint on this board. I thought this puzzle was particularly clever. :D

just when i thought the hardest part (figuring what the heck is going on) is over i got stuck again! im really starting to think that the hardest parts in the puzzles are the google searches!... i can't find any name changes for my result in 1950!!!
i seriously think google is dumb!

Ooog, this one is taking me FOREVER. I believe I have the final result of the equation, but trying to find any sort of name change related to it has proven most difficult!

i got solution of the equation right ( i assume). i found a 1950 name change in wikipedia of the solution. but still can't solve it. am i missing something obvious?

If you did the correct steps it should of led you to the right answer pretty quickly.

Let me shed some light on this one... I was in total darkness until I googled a certain "ingredient" which led me down the path to the right answer.... that was a fun one!

If you are on the correct website, it should not be difficult to find the ingredients to each of these. If you do the adding and subtracting correctly, you'll end up with your answer fairly quickly. Remember: gin gin is not the same thing as gin.

gin gin = gin + gin??? ???

GIN GIN = GIN + GIN

Oh...Duh on me! GIN??? ??? got it. That's what I got too although I can't seem to find the right final answer. Googling all the "answers" (individualy or added) I ended up with.

Ok. I had the correct trail a long time ago unfortunately I didn't think to pursue it because that is NOT how I do it or any other place where I can see them do it! Laugh...

I agree with above. Is this a product name change or a person name change? What does it have to do with #'s?

reading the previous comments it has something to do with a certain drink. That's all I know

okay so I found the wiki site that I want but I still don't know what to put in as an answer. Hints would help very much
I didn't like this one, the recipes are too ambiguous and you can spend ages chasing round the houses trying to find the right one. You're looking for the name of [something], hope that's not too much of a hint, to be honest I don't see how else you can solve this in a finite lifetime as there are so many thousands of combinations of recipes to look through.
