If you got the pieces right it should be obvious what to type in.

I have the pieces. I've tried moving them from space to space as dictated, and also drawing lines (instead of just moving the piece) and neither has made much sense to me. I'm utterly confused.

Not all of the knights move.

I know that. The ones that don't seem to make a shape. That shape also is a word commonly used in chess. I tried to type the word in and it isn't correct. I'm getting frustrated.

ok - looked up every chess term the wonderful internet could provide - the image that is obvious to me apparently has nothing to do with any of those chess terms (unless it's a slang chess term which wouldn't be included in lists) AHHHHH!

This is a puzzle you'll know pretty instantly if you have solved right. The shape is quite obvious. Just check your moves and make sure you moved the right pieces to the right places.

Where the knights end-up is your only concern. katefolsom, you're making it too complex.

Yes, move the pieces in order from top to bottom of the move list, then type what you see.

Its the easiest of the puzzles if you dont know chess notation just google it real quick...move pieces in order and its right their.

Moiraine:
Sadly you're going to have to either find a real chess set, or print out the picture, or copy it into Paint or something, as the pieces don't actually move on the puzzle page.

Thanks! I guess that means I have to print out "Bits and Pieces" and cut it into little squares......

That's actually what I did, but it was excruciatingly hard since I dont have color ink at the moment.

I understand what you are supposed to do to solve the puzzle but I have never understood chess, it's always confused me. I looked up a page on chess notation and used it as reference for where to put the pieces but the image I came up with doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure where my problem lies...

You don't really need to know anything about Chess to solve this puzzle. You just need to look at the directions on the right side and move the pieces accordingly. The directions move the knights in their normal patterns in a Chess game.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. I moved something wrong the last time I did it. Probably because I was half-awake when I did it...

Some puzzles are hard, but this one was an absolutely an amazing activity. Anyone agree?

For anyone still stumped on this one - don't look too hard at the picture that you get. I was trying so hard to figure out what the picture was that I missed what was right in front of me. In this puzzle, words are not the key. I hope that helps.

I can also think of one of the earlier puzzles that uses this very same concept for the answer....

for those who might still not get it, its no more than a simple piece on the keyboard. meaning, don't waste time googling stuff when the answer is right under your fingers

"Stop trying to hit me, and HIT ME!"
That being said, follow my instructions, young Padawans, and you cannot go wrong:
1. You have to know how to move that chess peice. Not how to play chess, just that peice. Nothing else. So, go figure that out first.
2. Copy that board into Paint. Like, now. :D No need to print it and cut it and that stuff.
3. Use the "Select" tool, and move the peices that way, just following the instructions.
4. When your done, if you even START to think, you'll get lost. Don't let your answer get too wordy. Just type what you see.
You are just a click away from victory.
The above quote is from The Matrix. Its telling you to stop trying, and start doing.
Hope this helps without spoiling anything. ;)

what I did was draw the chess board on some graph paper & each piece was a circle. I moved the pieces by erasing the correct circle & re-drawing it in the correct place. I had the answer no time!
If U still need help with something, I suggest U look @ rlink55's post

Looks like you've moved all the pieces and found something. But no, its not a house roof. Try joining the pieces...
