I thought I might get a little note book and write series of more "Advanced" words for more available expressions:

Ambiguous – vague (clear antonym)
Monotonous – repetitive (varied antonym)
Authoritarianism – tyrannical (democracy Antonym)
Totalitarianism – tyrannical
Equilibrium – balance (imbalance antonym)
Notorious – infamous (famous antonym)
Ominous – threatening
Portentous – arrogant
Tedious – tiresome (interesting antonym)
Omnibus - Collection
Voracious – ravenous
Exonerate – absolve

Portentous has a meaning closer to ominous, or foreboding. I think you mean Pretentious.

Portentous is it's own word and pretentious is a another word but they both have their commodies.

I realize that they are both distinct words, what I meant is portentous does not mean arrogant.
