I got
(incorrect spoiler deleted!)
but I don't know what to do now. I tried entering some nubers but it doesn't work.

Right click> copy and paste into paint. That makes it easier to slide.

i dont get it really... what significance fo the highlighted letters have? i did all the sliding (i wrote it all out on paper) but it didnt make sense at all after, i thought you maybe have to start with one of the highlighted letters and follow it round to make a phrase, but not all the letters join onto the next, and its just all gobbledegook!!

I haven't solved this yet, btu I have a phrase. Crassycatz's idea about the highlighted letters seemed to work, but I didn't use all of the letters (although those do are some interesting letters coughcough). Now I don't know what to do .___.

unfortunately, it's very easy to mess up the directions when sliding... make sure you do it right.

....I've been brooding over the final part of this puzzle for the last few days, all because I fail horribly at simple addition... then I realized <3
Thanks for all your help!

My advice is just to do it step by step in MSpaint; also, you don't need every letter, some are extras.

i used to have loads of these little slider puzzles when i was younger so i know the grey box is the dummy empty space... but i still dont get it... ive put it on paper and cut it out and today i got a different result to what i got last time!! but it still doesnt make sense! :(

I know what the letters mean but I don't know what you're supposed to slide. :? The letters? The white shapes? The rows of letters? The gray box? Maybe I'll try googling for "slider puzzles" or something...

EDIT: Wait! I got it! I got a three-word phrase!

I've got all letters, and I'm pretty certain I slid correctly (I've checked a couple of times)...there are words in my letters, but few beginning and ending with the highlighted letters...and none of them are correct. Also, I find no three-word (or ANY word) phrases. A hint or something, please?

I cut out little squares of paper and moved them around on my desk. You may be lost now, but you'll find your way out.

i did the paper thing and the paint thing, each time i did it, i got a different layout!!!! first the blank was in the middle then over on the right somewhere, then over on the left.. i follow it exactly... so how do i get it wrong? would it be too much of a cheat to ask where the blank square should end up? as im not getting anything... well i think i got one word from it, but the letters were slightly messed up, the first one wasnt what the first letter of the word i got should be... if that makes sense!!!

I don't know if it's cheating or no, but here is the location of blank spot for crassycats:

row 4 from top, column 4 from left

crassycatz

i dunno if its cheating or not but i got it before it gets deleted so its all cool!! lol thanks

i dont see that it is cheating really just a confirmation thats its been done right!!

I have the blank spot in the right location and I found many different combinations of words but none of them seem to work.. Is there any significance to the highlighted letters?

please help

Chances are you slid it correctly - just keep looking - I stared at the same finished puzzle for days before I finally saw it - followed by a "I cant believe I didnt see that!"

if u finished sliding, and u know u slid correctly but still can't c it there's a post here that might help u!... crassycatz said something earlier that stuck in my mind and helped me solve the last part... i think she was just guessing when she said it but it's 100% true! :)

Look for outstanding points. If you connect the dots without sidetracking you'll have yourself some letters that make sense. But oh no! the letters aren't the answers. What else can you put in besides letters? And make sure you use up all those letters!

Just got it! The best hints came from crassykatz first post, oyxgenthief's first post especially, and then kurq and oxygenthief's second post just put it all together at once for me. It's a two-for-one puzzle of the sort that you used to do when you were little.

Arobad's post borders on spoiler I think, don't read it unless you want to make it too easy on yourself.

how is that a spoiler?? i managed to give a hint but havent even solved this one myself!!! lol how on earth does that work!?

This was a nice puzzle. Everything that you need to solve it is in this topic. And crassycat your first post was really the one that clinched it for me.

03-31-2006, 11:34 AM
lol, i have it now... for some reason i must have been doing it back to front, or got some of the letters wrong because i did it earlier today and got it first time!!

still cant believe i gave a hint without even having it solved first!! lol i find it highly amuzing!!

So, I'm assuming you start with the "T".
But if I got that way I end up at a dead end? Or is there some other special way I'm not going?

crassycatz
04-02-2006, 12:09 PM
hmmm, you should end up on the other highlighted letter... are you sure you slid correctly?

OK, so I have a sentence that is 6 words long. My questions are as follows:

1. When sliding the letters, is it permissable to jump over the black barriers?

2. Do the words need to follow a contiguous path to arrive at the next clue?

My space ended up where it should have per the post above, but needed to do an anagram search to get the second half of the sentence since the letters were not in any apparent order. (The first half was in order...)

Let me know...

I would suggest doing this puzzle in two pieces...

Break it up into it's squares and slide them how it tells you, then follow the logical path from the start to the end. This will give you something to chase...

If you've done the first part and stuck on the second, are you really sure you know what the starting point is? It may not be as obvious as it seems.

Ugh, I've done the sliding portion of this puzzle over and over...The most obvious way, with the directions backwards...I even flipped the puzzle upside down at one point. I still have nothing to go on. Or, at least, nothing obvious enough to use right away. Any more hints?

Start from one white letter and try and make your way through the letter maze to the other. Your goal is to find the phrase that will lead to the answer.

hey, i figured out the sliding but when I try to connect the two white letters all I can get is "The Age" But then Im stuck Help!!!!:???:

If that's what you get, you've probably slid something wrong. Try tackling the puzzle from a different direction.

Max

I have no idea what to do with this one whatsoever. I don't know how to "slide" those words, from where am I supposed to start the sliding? and where am I supposed to end?. What's that black thing? Can I jump over those walls? All I'm getting is massive jibberish. HELP!

sonicchaos1993
05-05-2009, 02:38 PM
To slide, try using paint or something similar.

Max
05-05-2009, 11:58 PM
I've already tried that, if you answer the rest of my questions then I'll start sliding.

sonicchaos1993

When you slide, you need to slide the tile onto that gray space. You know those keychain puzzles that have 9 or so spaces and 8 tiles on them, and you solve it by moving the tiles around via the empty space? This is kind of like that. The directions are right there on the puzzle...
