Some knowledge of computers is helpful, as is part of the title. If you need a little bigger hint just asc.

I need a bigger hint.... hehehe

First, identify what the pictures are. Once you know what they are, you may see a connection to something that is undoubtedly right in front of you at this moment.
Hope that doesn't give too much away.

I think I know what you mean, Ive idntified each one, and I see somewhat of a connection between them but the #'s are throwing me off. What are their importance? Is it math-oriented?

...that was a sneaky hint. Or a typo.

...that was a sneaky hint.
Just tryin' to be subtle...
tequito - read oxygen's last post and then try saying the title of the puzzle out loud - does it remind you of anything computer related? If not, I don't know if I can give any more hints without giving it away.

Am I on the right track, 32 star version of US flag and US space flight? COmpletely lost on the TAB reference. Please give me a clue. Thanks :?

Am I on the right track
Unfortunately, wrong track. You're going too far with the analysis of the pictures. But they are the keys to the answer. How do they relate to your computer?

i know what the clues are hinting to, but (tries to think about how to phrase it without giving it away) are americans one different to english ones? and im using a laptop, thats gonna make a difference too isnt it!!!
Jamul

None of that makes any difference... The answer is internationally precise.

im not sure how the bell comes into it... i cant think what bell it is... i know its a famous one!! lol i get the stars and i get the tab... the only one is the bell... and then where do i start about how the number make no sense to me at all!! lol

the answer you need is the answer to the last box; the first three only help you figure out what you're looking for. You don't even need to figure out all three boxes, I got it from bel.

ok so i understand what you r all talking about! but the conclusion i made from the pictures is too general! i dont know what to look for exactly in that thing! and i don't understand the numbers at all! any help?
crassycatz
03-14-2006, 08:31 AM
well im pretty sure i know what it relates to due to some clues here and comon sense, altho i might be wrong on one of them... but i havent a clue how the numbers relate... any clues to that?
maybe i can pm you oxygen and make sure im on the right track?
EDIT: when i first started on this one i thought the title meant i had to ask jeeves something!! maybe i do... "how the **** do i solve puzzle 38?" wonder if he really does know all!!

I don't know what ANY Of the numbers are for. I have a Liberty Bell, some Tab...the cosmos? and nothing. To break the pictures up, I see numbers. Please. Assistance!

I got it from Oxygenthief pointing out Fripp's subtle, sneaky hint. =)
Of course, some computer knowledge (old stuff in particular) helps with that.
Very very tricky. =)
Not sure how else I can help with it, without being too much of a hint.
One thing I can think that *could* lead you off, is thinking of the 'liberty' bell, or tab 'cola'. Just needs to be more general. Tab, and Bell should suffice.
Or, if you can get the hint in the title (also subtle) and Fripp's hint... *shrug*
OK, hopefully it wasn't too much.

OK, I see a tab, star and bell- all parts of a keyboard (not the answer). What does it all have to do with 74? I get that it has something to do with a key which knows, but what key?

Hoping this isn't too much.
I'm going to try and provide a sequel to fripp's hint. So here's
fripp's hint II.
If you need a bigger hint, just asc the sequel.

let see if i can help...
if you are on msn add smarterchild@hotmail.com to your buddy list )its a bot... you can do all sorts with it...) say menu... then 3... then 10... that will give you what to google hopefully!!

I do not even know what a bot is. When I clicked on that link, all I got was an email address like to send an email to. I am still totally lost!!!!!!!!!

It's a chat bot. It only works if you're using a chat tool like AIM or MSN Messenger. If you do, for MSN add the email address above, for AIM add SmarterChild to your Buddy list. Then type Hello in a message to him and he'll chat with you. Once you do, you can type menu, then the 2 options mentioned to get the hint.

ok I joined the bot and did what you said with the menu and numbers- all I got was abstract art!!!!!!!!!!!!
crassycatz
03-18-2006, 02:51 PM
you need to look at what the art is called to get to the answer... you only need the "abstract" bit not the art

YES! I got it. This was much simpler than I thought it was going to be.

Am I left out, I know the key each picture represents (and I have for like 3 days) but I understand the "subtle" hint, but Ive tried tons of different stuff related to it... I can't get it!

Wow. I give props to the first person to solve that. It had way to many parts for me, and yes you did have to have good computer knowledge to know what to google after getting the pictures.

jusme, im not sure jamul will like you telling people that, hints are ok, solutions are not and telling people that is pretty much telling them the solution... just giving you a friendly warning, if you wanna tell people info such as that pms maybe better :)

Sometimes it helps to just spread all the information you have out on your table... sometimes it's easier to find what you are looking for that way.

To post a hint for the person who requested it:
Why is this related to computers?
[spoilers yanked]
What does 74 have to do with ... ?
There's a reason why 74 is the number to solve, and not one of the other numbers. One of the other numbers could have presented a difficulty when you come to enter the solution in the box, due to a limitation in how computers these days work :)

Another addition:
I'm not sure exactly what the reference to "Ask he who knows" is... Maybe Jamul is hinting if you're not a bit of a computer geek, you should ask your resident guru what the numbers might mean. Any TRUE computer geek would know, especially someone who was involved with computers before about 1995...

This is what I get for not being a computer geek, especially not before 1995.
At least I was in high school by then.
Anyway, I've got absolutely no clue.

Well, to be fair, though, the source in question is still used today; while "computer geeks" prior to 1995 may have had it more down pat by memory, it's not "gone".
