If you add up the dice yo get from "go" to "free parking" but that was already hinted at in the title so I don't know what to do either...

Actually, you don't quite get to free parking...

The rolls should be treated separately in order to find your way.

Wikipedia has both the common ones.

i still dont get it, ive done each of the turns in order from both the go spot and the free parking spot, and nothing seems to give me the answer to "who directed this" altho i have an idea now as to what it means... can i pm someone to confirm??

when it says "who directed this", does it have anything to do with movie directors?

Okay, I got a monopoly picture and figured out where the dice rolls take me. Is there some second part of the puzzle that I don't get?

Fripp gave an important clue.

Okay, I actually have a movie. The director name doesn't work, so I'm assuming I failed horribly at thinking.

I don't get how the dice works-- According to Fripp's hint, there are two places (technically 4 since I don't know which of the boards to use) on the board that I get to si? That doesn't seem right, so maybe I'm doing it incorrectly...

I don't understand why there are two sets of dice then. Is it leading me to one answer or two?

Fripp

I don't understand why there are two sets of dice then.

Are there only two sets of dice? How do you roll dice when playing the game?

It's not always the destination that is important, but how you get there...

I'm still not sure about one thing. Do you treat the dice images shown in the puzzle as if they are rolled by two people playing monopoly? I had thought you were talking about the rule about double rolls, which would make sense if there are two players rolling the "dice".
So my main confusion is which space I'm supposed to be landing on, and whether I will land on one space or two separate spaces, basically if there are "turns" at all...

It's not always the destination that is important, but how you get there...
I don't understand this at all .__.

Thank you for your help though! <3

I have tried the name of every space on the board, regardless of dice rolls and still cannot come up with the name of a play or movie who's director fits the answer!!! - This one is driving me bananas!!!!!

oxygenthief

You need more than one board space to find the answer.

I've tried googling over and over with different combos.....any hint on how many spaces are needed are they all important?

Jizzle

do u start at go or at free parking?

Zaratus

Once I figured out what I had to do, I got the puzzle quickly. Made me feel good too, to get a seemingly difficult puzzle with no help. =D

Best thing I can say - hopefully it's not too much - you need something from every space you land on.

The GO sign in the puzzle image is important as well.

The GO sign is the clue to the puzzle, and make sure you write down your locations.

A few questions -

American or UK?

Does the arrow pointing left have anything to do with the order in which we read the pairs of dice rolls?

How many players are playing (or does it matter)?

Without giving away too much (most of this has been posted or hinted at already in this thread, so hopefully you'll all give me some leeway), I've tested every letter-combination on both the UK and American boards, with each dice roll, alternating for one or two players, and used the rolls backwards, and started and ended on Free Parking, with no answer.

Now, if I'm doing this totally wrong, I'll be happy. But if this is just a "guess the arbitrary combination" game, then that's rather pointless. Can someone lean into this to dispel any misleading clues already given?

This is actually quite a good theory, one that i hadnt thought of, and not having solved the puzzle im off to try this as this puzzle is driving me crazy, as is whats in a name!!!

I would never have thought of the UK edition of the game if it hadn't been mentioned here in the forum. AFAIK, there is a logical answer to this puzzle which has nothing to do with the London board.

I would say the US version.

I don't think it'd be too much, to say it would be a single player.

As you should be able to guess from the question, what you get from the clues in the puzzle isn't the answer itself, but what you need to get the answer.

I also don't think it'd be too much to share a good resource for some of these puzzles, besides Google. It's helped for puzzles besides this one.

this puzzle really is going to make me lose my mind! i understand that i need more than one space to solve this puzzle but i can't figure out which ones, and obviously I can't find a director! Please help!

I've noticed that the same technique used to obtain the final clue is sometimes used in multiple puzzles ...

Okay, solved it. Now I have to add a vague hint. The title of the puzzle is practically irrelevant. One of my earlier hypotheses proved true.

I have to agree with you, misterpink, the same technique is used in multiple puzzles. I'm admittedly a bit disappointed by that.

I think I need to reorient
myself. Is there a different way to state
the question? Or a new
way to think of the problem?

I guess I haven't used this technique yet! Cuz I'm still stuck. BOO!

Hmm, another little tip:

If you are using the dice correctly (or think you are), perhaps you should try making a list, on paper, or in notepad, (whichever). Seeing it written down could help you, perhaps.

(Grr, can't quite get the wording the way I want it, trying to be helpful, without being TOO helpful, but I just don't like my wording there. Meh.)

Once you see the answer, and how you get it, you'll see that it's actually pretty easy.

Wow, that was a tough one, but the clues here definitely helped me out. Once I finally got a proper word it was fine, but I was pulling my hair out at first with the nonsense words.

I was totally overthinking this one. I tried every combination in the book before I remembered how to play the darn game! The game is played with two dice and not one, I was taking each dice as an individual roll. As previously stated, the "Go" sign points you in the right direction.

I got it! I thought I had it before but it says I was wrong... but only because of a stupid typo! gah!

Zaratus' comment really helped, about the GO and parts. I would have never thought of it that way.

I'll just reliterate what others have said: It's not the end that matters, but the steps you take that completes the picture. The GO hint definitely helped me look at this puzzle in another way. Also writing down your journey would help too.

Got it.

Remember how many dice you roll in Monopoly. Initially, this seems hard, but write down the stops on the way.

As to witch version, I'd go with US.

this wasn't so hard. at least not as hard as covering the traces of where i've been. (There's a hint hidden in here. find it. :)) the cover seems to help ;)P.S., this isn't the hidden hint.:) hope my hidden hint won't be too much...

1 player. Follow go. Keep moving. Keep track of where you've been. Find the movie. IMDB its director. US Board. No need for the London and US Boards confusion. Oh, and it is NOT the new version of the movie, if that was what's throwing you people off.

Arg! I have a director, but it doesn't work, and I can't think of another way of doing it. All the hints have been of great help, but still can't get the answer. Bah!
