#20 - Not in so many Words

I'm surprised not every puzzle has a topic yet, and this one doesn't have one for sure.

Can't even figure to begin on this one. Tried seeing which letters aren't in the mix, also tried looking for synonyms to see which word that is related to all of these isn't included. Nothing.

Right track? wrong? something completely different?

i took one of the words from the title and tried working with that to see which words it was in... but i cant get any further than that... even if that is the right track!!

Hah, just got it. The hints here helped a *little*, but I was thinking sort of along those lines anyway. The title of the puzzle helped a lot as well - a nice hint there.

The other hint idea, with the histogram - I can see how that'd be helpful. It can get you thinking along the right lines, at least.

i did a tally chart to start with i was then gonna convert it to a historgram, but found i didnt really need to!

This puzzle is driving me absolutely nuts! I've made a tally chart, a histogram, done math with the frequency (I added up the value of each word based on the histogram values for its letters), etc but nothing is jumping out at me! Nothing connects! Please PM me a large hint, I'm tired of this puzzle. I know that whatever I'm looking for is 6 letters because of the 6 blanks at the bottom, but there are more than 6 letters that are not in any of those words, and as far as I can tell you can't really make a word out of any of those missing letters. Plus the list is missing one last word at the end to make even columns of 10, so I'm thinking that the word missing is going to fit with all the rest of the words (in that it will use the letters already used, NOT any of the missing letters), but I have no idea how.

The only really useful hint I can think of is you're using the letters that are NOT in so many words, as the title states. The rest should be rather simple.

All of the clues in this thread were enough to lead me to the answer. The only other help I can think of is that since the answer is "not in so many words", it must be in some of them.

p.s. Yet again the background image will at least let you know that your answer is correct once you get it.
