The puzzle is as simple as number 36 with the negative greetings. It's just not possible to give a hint without giving the answer as well. One just has to see it.

Garf, I disagree. While on 'negative greetings' you literally have to see it, on #18 you just have to realize what they're asking.

It's really pretty simple. First you have to manipulate the image file to get a secret message, then you have to crack the triple combination code to get the English text, find the corresponding letter-number and then crack that code. Then you'll have to do some serious research. (You'll probably have to find the Moscow Newspaper Archive, hope that's not too much of a hint.) Decode the message you find hidden in there, then run a complex google search. Don't worry, the link you're looking for is in the first seven pages of links, you'll know when you find it, and the resulting puzzle can be easily solved by anyone with even the most basic knowledge of quantum physics and ornithological anatomy.

...no just kidding, :wink: it just takes a little bit of outside-the-box thinking.

dude seriously, this doesnt require out-of-the-box thinking. thats way too complicated for this puzzle. just try regular thinking instead.

Well, from the answers you're putting in, it's obvious that you're thinking too much. Way too much. On most of the puzzles in Dumb, it's better to think a lot. But not on this one.
The background doesn't matter. The fact that "WORD" is repeated however many zillion times doesn't matter. The fact that it says "4+9" instead of "24-11" or "√169" doesn't matter. The level number doesn't matter. The difficulty rating doesn't matter. The fact that the image name is "puzzle015.jpg" even though it's puzzle #18 doesn't matter.
All you need is the result of that equation (and surely you know how to get it) and the word.
That'll probably seem a bit spoilerish to people who've already solved it, but I don't think it's really a giveaway.

I finally figured out the answer & now I feel like an idiot 4 not knowing it earlier!!! Who knew it would be so hard finding the simplest of answers?! Here's all U need 2 know: The title says "Type It"; the answer to the equation in the center; & "word" repeated over & over again! (sometimes it's hard, figuring out the obvious)
