Thumbs up Monster life

Could somebody give directions on how to increase a monster's life? For example, I want to change a Hot'n'Sour to about 1000 or something, and it needs to actually show the life bar decreasing each time it's hit. Currently, I can raise the life of something, but the life bar shows it at full health until it's one hit away from getting killed.
Also, I'm trying to make a vampire have really high health, and also be able to switch from vamp to bat with the same health bar not changing. Is it possiber? Thanks.

Use Set Life, and change both the Current and Max health to the same number. Not exactly sure about the vampire/bat though.

TL is a programmed in variable that stores the life of any tagged monster. You can use this to set the tagged monster's hp to a variable and load it up again whenever he switches forms. Additionally you can print out TL in a message for debugging using %%TL.

Thumbs down Re: Monster life

@Redbone, thanks, I figured it out, and I was doing it (completely) wrong. @Blackduck, I have no idea what any of that means... :P

Let me take a shot at what Blackduck was trying to tell you.

  1. 1. Before you convert the vampire to a bat do this:
    1. TAG the monster.
    2. Save TL (Life Points of the Tagged monster) in a regular local variable, say V0. Do this by setting V0 to TL.
  2. Convert the vampire to a bat
  3. To set up the bat's life, to where the vampire's life was:
    1. Set the bat's Maximum life to whatever number you are using
    2. Set up another special that runs an infinite number of times triggered by there being at least one bat AND formula comparing for V0 > TL. When this condition is met, you will:
      1. Set the bat's life up by 1
      2. Set V0 down by 1
    3. Set up another special that runs an infinite number of times triggered by formula comparing for V0 = TL exactly
      1. Set V0 to 0
This last bit will fill the bat's life meter, but it may be slow enough to watch it climb for very large values, so you can do something similar but do one to formula compare V0 - 100 to TL and setting the monster level up by 100 and V0 down by 100. and you can also do one for ten. This will make the values set much more quickly, so the setting will not be visually obvious.
