Default Does Anyone Remember

Do you remember Disasterpiece Theater, my entry for the first Monthly Merge?

The level presented you with a disaster to save the world from and if you didn't succeed in resolving it, you died and restarted the level with a different disaster. There were 8 different disasters and if you failed all eight of them, it started over with the first one.

The point is that the new capabilities of SWC 8.0 have me inspired to dredge up an old world idea of mine: World without Ends.

The levels work the same as Disasterpiece Theater. Something must be accomplished and if you don't succeed, the level proceeds to the next logical entry in the cycle, until you get back to the first and play again from there.

I would like to see a few ideas from the community. You may just provide a name or include as many details as you like. It needs to be something that is cyclical.

Please don't get too carried away with the number of entries in the cycle. I have to fit all of the scenarios in a 200 by 200 level, along with an original entry point.

Scenarios..... Maximum Size
2-3..................100x100
3-8...................66x66
9-15.................50x50
16-24...............40x40
25-35...............33x33
36-48...............28x28
50-63...............25x25
64-80...............22x22
81-99...............20x20

and 20x20 is one screen so that's the absolute impassable limit, but really, the number of members in your cycle should probably be smaller, so there's room for something other than a monster-in-a-box type level. Also, I want to be able to finish the world eventually, so it would be nice if there were ideas for smaller levels instead of all huge ones.

I will include the ideas I like in the world. Here are some examples:

The Four Seasons
Rock, Paper, Scissors
War and Peace

That's enough, I don't want to give it all away, but I am looking forward to seeing your ideas.

this sounds like a really cool concept. ideas:
  • Colors
  • Water/Ice/Air
I dont know if you might wanna try a range of opposites, snow/lava for example.

I never heard of that, so I wouldn't know what to do with it.

To sum it up: bullets everywhere in incredibly complex formations which you can only find small holes in, which you can squeeze through.

I don't see any way in which that relates to my theme - so the idea is still out.

Something with a lifecycle of a metamorphic creature might be neat(Ex. Egg, Larvae, Pupa, adult. Or something like that.)

This world sounds like it will be really awesome when it's done. I'll definately have to dust off SwC again when it gets released.
I'll post more ideas later if I come up with something I think might work.

Maybe a bit boring...but my only idea is "A day in the life of Bouapha." Our hero must overcome the seemingly insurmountable challenge of getting through the day without getting killed. scenarios could include:

-Finding his car key, which has been stolen by the spiders in his basement.
-Getting lunch at the local pygmy-owned pizzeria.
-Deal with a pumpkin infestation in the park.
-And MORE!™

I guess this is a bit different from what you requested. Your idea allows for failure, whereas mine requires the player to succeed to progress. Hopefully, you get some sort of idea from this.

Perhaps the four original SWC worlds summed up in a scenario each...
