I have dosbox and I still can't get boboli to work.

You're probably not working it right. See if there's a way you can turn off the sound (not just the volume; it will do you no good) via the config files, if any happen to be present, and try again. I've heard most of the problems with DOS programs in XP is the incorrect sound drivers.

If it still doesn't work, then I'm guessing it won't work at all.

Well, if you're using DOSBox, it's really a DOS program in DOS, and should work fine. DOSBox only emulates sound devices that are compatible with DOS (like the SoundBlaster), and their presence should not affect anything not designed to use them.
