They are the same thing, in the same amount. The most you can get just depends on your surprise! If your surprise is to buy me a swimming pool, you get 20,000.

This isn't a contest in a competitive sense - it's just a chance to be rewarded for making this The Best Halloween Ever for all of Hamumu! Meaning that there's not pool of prizes to be won from. If everybody buys me a swimming pool (I really don't have the space for that many pools, though), you all get 20,000 PP/YB.

Hmm. How about an inflatable paddling pool? What's the going rate for one of those? (Just asking, because it'd save an awful lot of pain and suffering, with the surprise I am planning! Also, a back-up plan looks like a good idea right now...)

SOME CLARIFICATIONS AND WHATNOT

There are a couple things I've had asked more than once, so let me share them with everyone:

* You can work with others on your surprise. No reason you must go it alone! But no fancy prize splits. I don't want to be the one to figure out which of you gets which portion or stand in the middle of that slugfest. So any team efforts will have the prize split exactly evenly.

* But I don't recommend you work in a team. I have found that it's far easier just to get stuff done by myself than it is to get other people to do what they need to/should. Don't underestimate the huge overhead of coordinating your efforts and getting organized. When you work by yourself, you just dive right in. When you work in a team, there's all kinds of management to deal with first. And inevitably, people have varying levels of interest and passion for the work, so it's just a mess (witness every attempted merge in the Dr. L forum!).

* Yes, you may do multiple surprises. Whatever it takes to make this the Best Halloween Ever! But you just get one prize as the sum of all your surprises. You're going to impress me more, and thus get a bigger prize, if you do one big amazing thing than if you do a bunch of twiddly tidbits. If you do multiples, you're bound to rush through them and not polish to perfection or do any one thing that will stand out and make you a Halloween Superstar.

I think that about covers anything people have wondered about. Feel free to inquire further!
