I just finished an animation and want some constructive criticism. Please be picky! Please give me some feedback. Below is the animation. Ctrl+Shift+R refreshes the page.
Below the animation is the explanation of what is happening in the animation. It helps you see what's happening better if you watch a different stick each time. Animation One of the sticks (Stick B) pulls back his fist as he advances to punch, but the stick on the right (Stick A) punches 'Stick B' in the stomach (ow). The next stick, (Stick C) steps forward to grab 'stick A', but he gets kneed in the chin (ow again). 'Stick D' pulls out a sword, but 'stick A' breaks his arm, (ow!!!) and throws 'D' to the floor. 'Stick E' runs away, and 'Stick F' pulls out a gun. 'A' tackles 'F' and knocks him to the floor as he gets shot in the shoulder (ow!). 'A' then walks out of the animation. Edit: at the beginning, 'A' doesn't knee 'B', he punches him. Inviso-text! Note: In the Pivot file, the colors are more pronounced. Yes, they all have different colors. I think 'D', the one with the sword, the one that is supposed to be kind of blue-green, had it the hardest.
Oh! and notice that when 'D' gets his arm broken Edit: I will try to update the image so it has stronger colors, but it might not work. Last edited by Crabwarrior; 10-28-2007 at 05:36 PM. |

I think, next time you give an animation, make a link to it, rather than embed it.

Constructive criticism, you say? You sure I can't give destructive criticism, like how much I think your animation stinks? Conveniently, I don't really want to give any destructive criticism. I actually think it was quite good! But your protagonist seems to be hunched over a bit. Do you think you could straighten his back up a bit? I like the idea of making flexible backbones, but I think you went a little overboard. Just a little. Unfortunately, I realize it's quite a pain to go back and edit each individual frame so his back is straighter. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Motion blur would be murder, and I think it would be pointless. As for more scenes, this wasn't supposed to be long, this was to get an idea what to improve. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
About the motion blurs, I think they only fit in slow-motion or when something is moving really fast. Last edited by Crabwarrior; 10-30-2007 at 07:36 PM. |
