So I need some new music to listen to and was wondering what people here like listening to. I know there was a thread like this before about favorite songs and stuff...but what music do you listen to that you would suggest for other people to listen to?
Some of my favorite bands & CDs... Bright Eyes (All CDs...you either like them...or you don't) Bloc Party (CD- Silent Alarm) Death Cab For Cutie (CD- Plans) Motion City Soundtrack (CD- Even if it Kills me) My Chemical Romance (CD- Black Parade) Taking Back Sunday (CD- Tell All Your Friends) Thursday (CD- War All the Time) ...and many more, but those and probably the ones I like the most and would recommend for others. |

A few of my favourite bands include:
Feist Maroon 5 Coldplay Enya Chatel Kreviazuk Norah Jones Deee-lite Dire Straits All of the above are for the most part quite mellow but also funky at times. Enjoy.

Stuff I listen to and would recommend? Celtic folk songs, mediaeval sounding midis (not sure exactly where to find those, though Bjørn Lynne has some great songs on his website), video game soundtracks (particularly Plok, the Donkey Kong Country series, Super Bomberman 2, The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse and The Lord of the Rings for SNES) :D

Lately I've been listening to Drive-by Argument(Some Scottish band? Kind of techno-ish, but I like it) and The Spinto Band(Their CD, Nice and Nicely Done.)
Red Hot Chili Peppers album Stadium Arcadium is very nice, as is anything Muse does and "The Bedlam in Goliath" by The Mars Volta. This may be off topic, but the story behind The Bedlam in Goliath is actually quite interesting. Quote:

I mostly listen to instrumental music:
Pirates of the Carribean (Movie music) Stargate Atlantis (TV series music) Lord of the Rings (movie music) Earth Universe (PC Game Music) or to some new songs, I only download single songs from iTunes: I kissed a Girl (very new from... phew, IDK.) 4 Minutes (Justin Timberlake and Madonna) Pon De Replay, SOS, Unfaithful (all these from Rihanna) Dani California (Red Hot Chili Peppers) ... |

Let's see.....
My Chemical Romance ("Famous Last Words"- best song EVER!) Disturbed (Indestructible- best album EVER!) Rise Against (I own all the current albums, and planning on nabbing Appeal to Reason when it comes out) Coheed & Cambria (Really good progressive rock. I likey a lot Boston ("More Than A Feeling" is an awesome song) Metallica ("One", "Enter Sandman", "...And Justice For All". Great thrash) Iron Maiden (Namely "Run to the Hills", "The Trooper", and sometimes "The Number of the Beast") AFI (Awesomeness extreme.) Fall Out Boy (Don't get me going on the "but they're sell-outs!" I just like their music, OK?) Killswitch Engage ("The End of Heartache" should have been a Rock Band download instead of "My Curse", IMO) EDIT: Oh yeah, "Tell Me Baby" and "Dani California" are good Red Hot Chili Peppers songs.

Athlete, who are some random British band few people have heard of. 'You Got the Style' has the best lyric ever: Oh, it's getting hot in here! Must be something in the atmosphere!' Classic. Their music is... odd, with a lot of it synthesized, but they're awesome.
Coldplay, already mentioned a lot. I've been listening to the Beatles and Electric Light Orchestra recently too. Old stuff for the win! Actually, my taste in music is pretty random. I would recommend They Might Be Giants, but most people I've gotten to listen to their songs think they're ridiculous. But 'The Else', their newest album, is more... normal, I guess, but still really odd. |

Yes. One called 'Tomorrow I'll', one called 'Robotniks Tea Party' (>.<) And one called 'Robotnik Beat' or 'Robotnik Wants His Money Back'.

And yeah, I could probably recommend those, though they're kind of weird, and Tomorrow I'll isn't family friendly, so I actually can't recommend that one to everyone, I guess. Last edited by SpiderPumpkin; 08-15-2008 at 09:33 AM. |

Why would anyone pull tha moon out of its oarbit? :D Yeah, I made that, but it's not a song, so I don't know what it's doing here. (Though it has a song from the Care Bears movie in it. Ah, yes, Care Bears songs. They're strangely awesome, imo.)

the Kingdom Hearts Soundtrack, download The 13th Anthology seperately, and upload to mp3. BAM! instant wordless, quality music!
btw, The 13th Anthology is still good on it's own. It's played with classic instruments, and is six minutes of awesomeness long! System of a Down, provided you're not the type to interpret every song you hear into some deep meaning... and are of a mature age. (some of their songs can get pretty quirky if you listen to the words) Last edited by death; 08-17-2008 at 07:38 PM. |

A few I neglected to mention;
Story of the Year (All albums are great. Kinda hardcore punk + emo) 30 Seconds To Mars (Yeah, yeah, they're screamo, but I like their songs) Trapt (Namely, "Who's Going Home With You Tonight?", because it contends with "Famous Last Words" by My Chemical Romance as my favorite song)
