I've been working on a Loonyland 2 world for a while now, and I have come to the conclusion that part of the reason there are so little add-ons for it, is that the editor is far to difficult to work with.
Honestly, getting a world with any coherent plot doesn't work for me anymore. Every time I need to have an item in the game, I place it, just to find it cannot be picked up. So I place the person who gives you it, just to find you have a quest to get it, and that the quest involves an item from another quest. And both these people give you other quests after that that I never wanted in the game. Also, I find it hard to get things like the ballonist to work, because he needs specific maps to go to. And a lot of things that DO work confuse the heck out of me... So yeah, I recon that if we want more LL2 add-ons, we need an amped up editor. But this is just my opinion, so what do you guys think?

A sane implementation of a more powerful editor would need to involve Jamul making changes to LL2. Seeing as he's abandoned the Dr. L engine (and insert a joke about the code not even compiling here) and moreover has sold out all LL2: CE discs, it seems unlikely that will happen. Perhaps with a whole lot of trickery and evil it could work, but I'd personally avoid a project so large in scope and beyond my abilities to deliver in a reasonable amount of time.

The game was never meant to be edited by players, hence the massive amount of hardcoded weirdness. The editor was just added (activated, really - it was there already) as another bonus to the CE for fun. Anything you can scrape out with it is a victory! If you want a game set up for user editing, then you want Supreme or Costume Party!

Hmm, yeah, I guess.
It does seem odd to award awesomeness for making one then, considering the other bits are relatively easy to get... Also, even being able to do what has been happening in Blackducks streams lately would be useful, but I guess It'd make the world invalid...

You can also earn the same awesomeness by making a Stockboy world, which is designed to be editable by players.
