Pop is not a valid genre. If the popular taste is classical, pop will be classic. I didn't put it in there on purpose.

Most of pop music coming out of America today is worthless crap anyhow. I tire of it and dubstep pretty easily. They have their moments, but there's only so much you can do. That's why I like jazz: improvisation is integral, spontaneous music is composed every time.

Actually, yes it is. Pop is specifically the style of music that's currently popular -- there isn't any other name for it, and it's been quite similar for quite some time. There's a reason people call it Pop and not something else: there's nothing else to call it.

Oh, and you're missing indie (which is a legitimate genre basically for the same reason), punk, and J-Pop. Those being the ones I'd vote.
